Fantastic Family run Independent Hotel - could not do enough for us. In an age of hotels with no character or face to them - this is gem - great to visit and relax walk up the back of the hotel and Spring water from the taps! It is a reminder of what Britain used to be. Honest food and prices - plenty of parking and no need to enter your registration and all that nonsense!

What a lovely family run hotel. You couldn’t have done anymore to make it such an a enjoyable stay - thank you. Rooms very clean and spacious. The food was excellent. Thank you for making it a lovely break for my husbands birthday.

What a lovely place to stay. The warmest welcome on arrival from Elena, outstanding table service from Alex in the restaurant, delicious food, a cosy bed and a hot shower. We were only in the area for one night but really hope to visit again. Perfect

This is a fantastic family run hotel. I cannot praise this wonderful hotel enough. Stayed here for 2 nights due to a wedding in the area. The landlady was so friendly and was always happy to stop and chat. I learnt so much about the castle and its history. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious, as was the breakfast. This is run by a family of just 3, and they all work so so hard. Please come and support this lovely place. Lots of lovely walks in the area, and we even popped to the Scottish border.

Had a wonderful overnight stay in this lovely family run hotel. Excellent food both for dinner and breakfast. A very comfortable and friendly hotel in an excellent location. We shall be back.

Wonderful visit family run hotel -we were rescued by the wonderful Ellie when another venue cancelled 2 rooms from our group of ten .They couldn’t have been nicer and the meals were great . Dinner and breakfast were super. Close to the Petit Chateau for wedding-just across the road. Lovely aspects in beautiful grounds.
