Fairfield Inn & Suites Ottawa Starved Rock Area

We stayed while traveling to Odyssey of the Mind 2024 World Finals. Hotel was clean, quite, safe and a great experience. Beds were comfortable and fluffy pillows! Breakfast was good, waffles were yummy and fresh watermelon was great. Only downside the hot tub jets were broken, which was a real bummer since my back was really hunting and I was really looking forward to the hot tub. Pool is small but was clean. Other than that fantastic would stay here again.

This hotel was very nice. Looks like it may have been recently remodeled, but I’m not sure. Room was comfortable & quiet. Breakfast was OK the usual items were available. Breakfast room was clean. We’d stay here again when in the area. And a perk there was a Culver’s nearby.

We stayed for two nights. Easy location and friendly staff. Room was super clean and lobby was spotless. Breakfast in the morning was good enough. Hot tub was fantastic after hiking days nearby. Our first room had a tv without internet, so we could not connect to Netflix, but the front desk moved us upon request and then all was good.

When my husband and I moved to the area we stayed at the Fairfield. Had an amazing experience from low noise level to customer service. We did have to stay longer then expected and for the cost it was a great value for the money. So when we needed a meeting room they were the first to come to mind. From scheduling the room to the day of, they went above the call of duty! We did do some calling around on prices and they were the cheapest and the friendliest by far. When we got there to set up the lady at the front desk came out and helped carry things in. Not even 2 mins later a gentlemen came to see if we needed anything (thinking he was management of some type ) turns out he was the maintenance man! Every member of the hotel staff was very helpful. Even the cleaning staff that had nothing to do with us, answered questions we had with a smile on their face. When our guests arrived the staff was very welcoming and warm to each one. They would comment that most hotels has those areas like public restrooms for example that aren't always cleaned the best or rust etc all over. Not this hotel! You can tell they all take pride in their jobs. You don't see that very often anymore. Hands down this is a hotel that I would HIGHLY Recommend to stay or have a meeting in. I would highly recommend the Fairfield Inn and Suites to my family and friends. The hotel was very clean and the bathrooms were glistening. The staff i was pleasantly surprised at the level of service given to us. Specifically Kathy, Ken, Beth and Rachel. As we were in the conference room i seen how thorough Kathy was at cleaning. Ken, i think that was his name, would come in and ask if we needed anything. Beth and Rachel made sure everything went as planned. Such a team!! The professionalism and the respectful conversations they had with each other and with us were commendable. Their hard work and excellent service was noticed by my guests as well as myself. So happy to see that there are still hotel chains out there that pride themselves in customer service and professionalism. Thank you for offering a wonderful place to hold our event.

The staff at the front desk were very friendly, attentive, and engaged me in some small talk about my visit to the area. My room was spotlessly clean and quiet. The pool was pretty small, not great for doing laps. But, it was a nice temperature, clean, and there were plenty of towels available. My room was very quiet and I had a very restful sleep. The breakfast was pretty mediocre. Enough to get me out of bed and on the road, but not really a meal. The options were pretty limited. But, the server was friendly and the food that was available was all fresh.

Hotel smelled fresh and clean, rooms were nice, beds were comfortable, breakfast was great and staff was amazing. Even the toilet paper was better than some places lol. I only took one star off because it didn’t have dedicated pet free rooms.
