Ocean View Lodging House

Ocean View Lodging House

📍 San Jose Road, Oslob
★★ 9.5 (62 reviews)

"Our family stayed at this hotel for 5 days at the end of March and we were very happy with our experience. It's a very quiet and cozy hotel right on the ocean, with a fantastic view from the dining area. Our room was small, but the beds and mattresses were comfortable. There was always hot water. The room windows faced a shared corridor, but this wasn't an issue for us; we enjoyed the sea views from the common area while sipping on complimentary coffee or a glass of rum. The dining area is equipped with dishes (plates, mugs, cutlery) and a refrigerator where you can store food and drinks, plus ice is always available in the freezer for beverages. There's no stovetop for cooking, but you can order takeout from a nearby restaurant through the hotel, or bring your own food. You can also rent a motorbike at the hotel for 500 pesos per day. The owners are incredibly warm and helpful people, always ready to assist. Upon arrival, they arranged our airport transfer from Cebu for 5000 pesos. They also organized tours for us to see whale sharks (1000 pesos/person for the ticket), Sumilon Island (500 pesos/person), and Tumalog Falls (6 pesos/person for the ticket, plus 500 pesos/person for transportation). We were very pleased with the tours and the guidance, a big thank you to Baby, the hotel owner, for organizing everything. We decided to visit Moalboal independently, which turned out to be quite easy. The bus stop is located next to a 7/11 store; just wait for a light green bus and take it to the final stop, Bato Terminal (60 pesos per person). From there, transfer to another bus heading to Moalboal (138 pesos per person). Once in Moalboal, take a tricycle to the beach. We used D'Greco Hotel as a landmark; it's right on a beach where you don't need to pay to swim with sardines and turtles – you just walk into the water, swim out to the reefs, and enjoy. The tricycle ride to the hotel cost us 200 pesos for three people. Before entering the coastal area, there's a tourist fee of 25 pesos per person. Near our hotel, there's a tour desk where we booked a canyoneering trip to Kawasan Falls, and it was unforgettable! It cost 1900 pesos per person and included lunch. Overall, we loved it. Returning to Ocean View Lodging House in Oslob felt like coming home. The owners were happy to see us back. The next day, we were scheduled to go to Panglao, and Baby, the owner, booked our ferry tickets for us. All in all, our impressions of the hotel and its owners are overwhelmingly positive. An excellent hotel for an excellent price."

"You can book a car through the hotel to go to Oslob, and the shuttle to see the whale sharks costs 100 pesos. There are also boats to Sumilon Island. Upon check-in, you just fill out a form to choose your desired itinerary and service package. The service is excellent. The hotel has sea views and good facilities. My room door faced the hotel's dining area by the sea. I ordered food directly while sitting by the sea and just zoned out watching the ocean. It was a wonderful experience."

"We loved our stay at Seafari! The place looks like something out of a postcard—perched under a cliff with dreamy views and its own little private beach. Now, full disclosure: to get there, you’ll have to conquer what felt like a thousand stairs (okay, maybe just 50 meters of cliffside steps, but our legs don’t know the difference). Totally worth it though! The staff was super friendly, the vibe was relaxed, and everything felt peaceful and private. If you're up for a bit of a leg workout and want a quiet slice of paradise, this is your spot."

★★ 8.7 (56 reviews)

"The hotel is great. It's small, with only six rooms, which creates a really cozy atmosphere. It's tough to find hotels off the main road near Oslob. So, when I was choosing a place, I also considered easy access to the sea. It can be a bit noisy near the main road, but if you tune that out and just listen to the waves, it's actually quite nice. The pool is excellent, and so is the access to the sea (though you definitely need to wear water shoes, like everywhere else, as most beaches on Cebu Island are rocky). They offer food services, bringing delicious grilled seafood and amazing soups made from it. There's also a BBQ grill available. If you want to explore Filipino cuisine, you'll get a chance here. They offer transparent kayak rides, which are perfect for seeing the seabed. They also arrange tours for swimming with whale sharks and with sardines in Moalboal. The staff are incredibly friendly. The hotel owners also visit and oversee the staff's work."

"Beautiful hotel situated nicely along the water. The room had poor drainage in the bathroom, but the real problem was the smell of sewage coming from the bathroom.   The restaurant was very nice - good food with great view. Whale sharks watching was 20 min away.  Helpful staff"

"The biggest advantage of this place is the location. The host will help you to organize whale shark swimming with a reasonable price. Moreover you can be provided with late dinner and early breakfast. We stayed there only for a night, it was ok."

Oslob Seafari Resort ★★★
"Pros: beautiful views, clean room, super friendly and accommodating staff, decent food and drinks, hot water, toothbrush, and aircon. Good deal for the price. Cons: bad lighting in the room and that’s it really. People complain about the stairs but if you are in even the most basic of shape it’s not bad. Just take some pauses on the way up."

"My friend and I stayed for 3 nights in February. This is an amazing, soulful place to relax. The staff were very attentive and provided everything we needed to feel comfortable. Excellent, delicious breakfasts, a swimming pool, easy access to the sea, and unlimited coffee/tea. Special thanks to the massage therapist, a true professional ❤️ The hotel offers a free 30-minute massage for stays of 3 nights or more. Highly recommend 🫶"

Seascape Beach Resort Oslob ★★★
"A very decent hotel, although its best rooms are long gone. It has a fantastic pool, excellent breakfasts, and even the extra food we ordered for dinner (we ordered curry) was delicious and inexpensive. The rooms are small, with minimal furniture. The hotel is located near the road, but there wasn't much noise, and you could clearly hear the waves, making it perfect for falling asleep. The only downside is the high price (we paid $43 per night), but it was still the best hotel of our entire trip to the Philippines!"

"The hotel is really charming, with a beautiful sea view right from the window. The pool is clean, service is good, restaurant prices are affordable, and the food is delicious. But! There's nothing around. It's 11 km to the shark swimming spot. Tuk-tuks are available. The staff helped with transport to Panglao. And overall, all the employees are very polite and attentive."
