Beautiful location, but that is the only positive thing about this hotel. Don't go here if you have a lot of luggage! We travelled from the Netherlands, so we had two big heavy suitcases. But first, we came to the crowded village Drøbak, and we had to find the parking space near the ferry. The hotel did not mention that there was a festival in the village and the usual parking space was not available. The other space was hard to find and then we had to walk quite a bit to the ferry. We did got a text after the cancellation period that their restaurant was closed at 5 pm. When we got off the ferry, we had to walk a long way up with our heavy suitcases. It was not at all clear where the hotel was exactly, the signs are in the wrong place! When we finally found the hotel, we were completely beat. But we could not check in yet because the check in time is 4 pm. So we had to wait half an hour in the lobby. And then, when we finally arrived at our room, there were other people in it, who entered with their card. Really weird... But the room is ok.

This is no luxury hotel, nor does it try to be, but it fits perfectly in with the historical surroundings. The service was excellent, the breakfast average plus, and the rooms more than adequate. We slept in rooms designed for soldiers, an it felt just right; comfortable enough, yet authentic.

Top class experience at Oscarsborg Hotel & Resort. Great staff and lovly food in unique historical atmosphere. Nice and clean hotel rooms and excellent breakfast. Fun activities at the island. Super convinient transport by boat directly from central Oslo or Drøbak.
