Golden Rock Dive and Nature Resort

We arrived at the end of September through the first weekend of October. It was a beautiful resort with the best food we've had at any resort, ever! We came during a slow week and our rooms were upgraded without asking! I hope to come back soon!!

Lack of activities for non-divers. Only main pool was clean enough to use. The second was green and the lagoon was absolutely gross. We were advised not to go in the lagoon by staff. They advertise you can walk to beach which we had no access to a beach we tried looking for it. They do have dive shop but you do get shuttled from resort. On resort transpiration is slow. It took 30-40 minutes to get drinks at pool even if it was only 2-3 people. Short staffed and not very helpful. No medical staff on site we had two people pass out with the heat at dinner thankfully we had an rn with us. The owner was present at time and showed no concern about the guests. A few positives is even though it took a while to get your food it was amazing and rooms were clean. Be sure you take screen shot of package at time of purchase they wanted to add an upcharge on some of the meals if you ordered certain items! Watch your bill…

I stayed there with a big dive group and can't say enough about this place. The dive operation is fantastic. Great diving and dive guides. Full service meaning they switch out your tanks for you, they even take your fins off in the water before getting to the ladder. How great is that. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very well appointed. The wi-fi is fast and works everywhere at the resort, at the pool, restaurant, everywhere. The garden grounds is such a delight every time we walked around the resort. I can't comment on the food as we were a large group and had nightly buffets. I loved the food. The staff are so sweet and attentive. A special shout out to Sophie, the event organizer, who did an outstanding job managing our large group.

A truly eco-friendly 5 star resort. The physical plant (rooms, pools, restaurants) were 5 star/newish and I think every room had a view of the sea. The service was excellent, too. The staff was always asking if we needed anything. I felt like they did all the work all week, which is what I needed! The grounds were lush with exotic plants/flowers/hummingbirds. Unlike many places in this part of the world, this resort cares about the environment: they have solar panels, desalinization equipment, greenhouses growing food, etc. Very gentle on the environment. We only had reusable cups on our dive boats, for example. I wish I could have stayed longer. I got used to living there! The island of Statia is a great place to get away from commercialism and tacky tourism. It was clean and the natives were welcoming. I highly recommend this place!

Golden Rock really rolled out the red carpet for our large group and made our fundraising event unforgettable! The resort was the best in every way from the staff, food and atmosphere. I highly recommend visiting Status and staying at Golden Rock!

I’ll preface my review with the fact that over the last 35 years I’ve traveled to most of the major Caribbean islands (and a few of the lesser known islands) and stayed at most of the major Caribbean resorts. I had the good fortune to spend a week at Golden Rock on a scuba trip and the only bumps during my stay were on the road to/from the resort. The staff is excellent, the rooms are stunning (I was in a villa, but saw all the other room types as I had friends staying in other room types), and the food was delicious. Diving was first-class. The staff truly does everything for you. You arrive and put your dive gear in the dive bag (which they provide for you to use during your stay) and you don’t have to deal with it again until you’re packing it up to go home. They get it to the boat, they connect it to the tanks and change them between dives. At the end of the day they take everything apart and wash it and store it for you until the next day, when it’s all set up for you again. They even take your fins off for you before you climb the ladder to get out of the boat! Truly five-star service. You won’t find the pristine beaches that most people associate with many Caribbean islands, so if you’re a beach lover, you may think this isn’t the place for you, but there are two beautiful pools and plenty of other things to do. I LOVE a nice beach and absolutely never missed it. There’s great hiking, countless dive sites, and a lot of history to learn about as you tour the town. It’s also nice to just take in the peace and quiet the beautiful island has to offer. The staff is also super friendly and accommodating. Whether you need to get away from it all and decompress or you want to get out and explore nature (above and below the water), you’ll be hard pressed to find anything as special as Golden Rock!

We spent 4 days at the resort. Golden Rock is nothing short of unbelievable. The staff is incredible. Everyone treated us like we were royalty. The food is amazing. We stayed in the Villas. Beautiful and spacious. Beds are extremely comfortable. Loved the rain showers in the bathroom. The pools are beautiful. I've never seen so many beautiful flowers and trees. The views of the ocean and other islands is so cool. Top notch all the way around. Took a tour of Oranjestad and that was really amazing. Such cool history. Overall our experience was unforgettable. Hard to leave and come back home. 5 stars all the way!!

Excellent dive experience and first time visitor to St Eustatius. The Rock Resort is five star and Statia Dive is 5+. Dive Masters are top notch and equipment is extremely well maintained. Can’t think of a better place to dive and stay. Hats off to all the dive masters, captain and resort staff.

I am just back from spending four days at the Golden Rock Dive & Nature Resort in Statia, and I can confidently say it was a remarkable experience. The property itself is stunning, with beautifully maintained gardens that create a serene and peaceful atmosphere. it is so beautiful that you would think it is a botanical garden. The landscaping is clearly done with great care, making every walk through the grounds a delight. Music fills the air across the property, creating a lively and pleasant ambiance wherever you go. The food at both of the resort’s restaurants was consistently excellent. Each meal was delicious, and it’s worth noting that the vegetables come straight from the resort’s own farm. I particularly enjoyed the Bobbie's Saturday night vibe! For those who like to stay active, the resort’s gym is well-equipped with everything you need for a great workout. Additionally, Golden Rock offers a variety of sports facilities, including tennis, pickleball, and padel courts. These courts are well-maintained, and everything is beautifully lit at night, so you can enjoy a game under the stars. One of the unique features of the resort is the charming train that shuttles guests around the property. With its cute train stations, it adds a unique touch to the stay and makes getting around both convenient and enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the mini golf course, which was a fun way to spend an evening. The staff at Golden Rock are truly incredible. Their warmth and attentiveness make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. It’s evident that Marah, the General Manager and the owners are deeply committed to maintaining high standards and their efforts are reflected in every aspect of the resort. During my stay, I had the opportunity to hike the Quill, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. David, the guide was knowledgeable and passionate about both the hike and the island, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It was clear that he genuinely loves his job and sharing his knowledge with visitors. In brief, staying at Golden Rock Dive & Nature Resort is an experience that feels like a step out of time. It was exactly the break I needed – a perfect escape into paradise. The combination of natural beauty, thoughtful amenities, and exceptional service makes it a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a rejuvenating getaway.
