"Stopped here on our way home. Pool was not open (wasn’t mentioned on the site). Rooms were dated, but the staff were friendly and they offer free breakfast. Plus, it’s right off the highway. Checkout is supposed to be at 11 am, but we had hotel staff continuously knocking on our door starting at 9am asking if we were checking out, which was extremely frustrating. Likely will not stay here again."

Comfort Inn & Suites

"I specifically looked for pet friendly hotels to stay at during our drive home. This hotel was listed as pet friendly on both orbitz and trivago. (See photo) When I arrived at the hotel and told the clerk at the front desk that we have a dog, he said the hotel does not accept dogs  And we would not be allowed to stay with the dog .  That prompted me to have to look for another hotel in the area on extremely short notice and at a much higher rate. The clerk at the desk went to another site and showed me where the hotel said no pets  And then I directed him to the two sites that showed that they did except pets.  The fact that they do not have their act together  cost me time and money. Not acceptable.  Still waiting for full refund."

Red Roof Inn Orangeburg

"When we first arrived we thought the room was good. Time we pulled our shoes off we realized how sticky dirty the carpet was. The whole time we were there it felt damp, even the bed covers felt damp. We had to ask for our bed to be changed and for more towels and tissue. The worst part of all was the roaches. We had to buy roach spray to finish our stay. They wouldn't give a refund because we booked through Trip.com. Definitely will not stay here again."

"I understand the reservation was non-refundable, and I take responsibility for my mistake. However, I contacted Trip.com immediately after booking, and their team made multiple efforts to contact the hotel on my behalf. The refund request was denied. I also spoke directly with Stacy at the hotel, who initially told me that a refund would be possible if the third-party provider approved it. She even stated that if I had booked directly with the hotel, they would have refunded me immediately. After following her instructions and contacting both Trip.com and *******, I was extremely disappointed to find that the hotel’s response was completely different from what I had been told. The communication was inconsistent and misleading, leaving me with the impression that I was being passed back and forth without a genuine effort to resolve the situation. I understand policies exist, but customer service should also involve honesty, transparency, and reasonable consideration. The way this situation was handled was very disappointing and left me with a negative impression of the resort."

"The receptionist over the phone was helpful and provided good service. However, the information given during check-in was different — I was told the service dog would be free of charge, but at check-in, I was charged around $27. The room was spacious and included a refrigerator, microwave, and a regular TV. Free parking and bathroom amenities were available, and there was coffee provided. However, the room smelled like smoke, and the floor was not clean. Also, the app listed that breakfast was included, but no breakfast was served."

Club Wyndham Lake Marion

"Where do I begin- this Wyndham is really top notch! At check in, the receptionist Ruth gave us fresh peaches from her backyard and they were serving wine and champagne. It was our anniversary so they decorated our room with balloons and petals and had lots of treats waiting for us. The staff is just incredible with attention to detail and so friendly. The whole weekend they had activities planned from food to water slides and it felt like one giant party. I highly recommend this Wyndham if you are looking for a place to relax, chill by the pool, or go out on the lake. My only critique is the surrounding area had very little to do. Not many restaurant options. But we took a day trip to Charleston (only an hour) so that wasn’t really a problem for us. We truly loved our stay!"
