this pub/hotel is situated in a beautiful spot near Delph; there are easy to reach walks amidst the beautiful surrounding hills. Oldham is close and a bus stop is just few minutes away from the hotel. There is a light breakfast at no extra cost included in the room price.

I needed somewhere quiet to spend a night getting away from everything…and Grains Bar Hotel was perfect! The staff throughout were friendly and welcoming; the accommodation was really clean and well-presented; the area it’s set in is beautiful and very peaceful, though quite close to a busy road and within easy access to local towns and the city, as well as on the edge of the hills. It looked like there was a good play area for kids, and a lovely setup for weddings too, so it ticks lots of boxes. I wanted time to think and read so I had brought a book, which was fortunate as the internet made watching a film nearly impossible, but that was fine for me. The food was delicious with good portion sizes. I would happily stay again.

Went to the hotel this morning with my family. 5 of us. The breakfast was delicious, hot, freshly cooked and plentiful. The coffee was delicious. We were served by Poppy, who is the politest, loveliest and most exceptional waitress. She was on her own, but remained calm, did not rush and attended to whatever we requested in a very efficient manner. All credit to that young lady. Will definitely be back!

What a lovely little hotel - my partner and I stayed overnight as a little date night away and everything about the hotel was perfect - our room was lovely and clean - bed super comfy and the food (we had an evening meal as well as cooked brekkie the next morning) was absolutely out of this world - really top quality cuisine so thank you - we highly recommend and just wish we’d booked an extra night 🙂

Fantastic stay from start to finish! I stayed in one of the Shepherds Huts,whilst working away for the week. Such a comfortable stay, stunning view, accommodation immaculate inside. Staff are so friendly, welcoming,cant do enough for you. Food is excellent value for money with very generous portions. Peacocks outside are lovely too! Highly recommended by me. Will 100% return when back in the area.

Grains Bar Hotel was the perfect setting for our wedding — we honestly couldn’t have picked a better place! The views are absolutely stunning and made the most beautiful backdrop for the day (and the photos!). The rooms were comfy and cosy, and having everything on-site made the whole experience so much easier for us and our guests. Mel — the food was unreal. Every plate was a hit, and people haven’t stopped talking about it since. Thank you for keeping everyone so well fed and happy! And the staff? Absolute legends. Stacey, Lisa, Louise and the whole team were so kind, calm, and completely on it from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, and they made everything run smoothly with big smiles and even bigger hearts. From us to you — thank you. You helped make our wedding day everything we hoped for and more.

We had our wedding here in April 2024. We felt nothing but welcome from the very first time we went to view the wedding room. When we spoke with Louise about what we wanted for our food and all the things. We weren't typical with our choices, but nothing was too much trouble. We had a disabled guest to our wedding who was supported with his needs. The cottage we stayed in the night before the wedding was beautiful too. A lot of our guests stayed the night of the wedding too and were supported from booking and onwards. I have been here for food on seperate occasions and each time was brilliant food was lovely. Hoping to come here much more often now that I can drive 🙌🏻

Booked last minute as had a sudden urge to walk from Manchester to the Pennines in an attempt to get fit. This was the cheapest deal I could find for 2 adults and 2 separate rooms. We were just after somewhere to get our heads down for the night and have a bite to eat with drinks Arrived at the hotel 8 hours and several pints later and met with friendly staff. Booked in, in less than a minute, and taken to our rooms. Rooms spot on, very clean, warm, brewing tackle, nice big bed and en suite shower/toilet. Cracking views of lovely Lancashire spoilt by a bit of Yorkshire thrown in. Went in hotel restaurant for evening meal. £30 for 2 x 10oz rib eye steaks, chips, onion rings, peppercorn sauce. Bargain. Washed down with a couple more pints. Fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Nice suprise the next morning as you get a light breakfast included with your booking, which we were not aware of. Helped myself to cereal and toast with a few cups of coffee. Bus stop 1 minute walk away, which took us back towards home for £2. Definitely go again
