Adirondack Lodge Old Forge

The Adirondack Lodge has some nice aspects: The indoor pool is warm and inviting (don't forget to bring a towel from your hotel room); the room was clean and spacious, the bathroom amenities (shower gel, shampoo and conditioner) were fine, the small refrigerator with freezer compartment met our needs, the shower was hot and strong. The gal that checked us in, Audrey, was very nice and welcoming. The location is an easy walk to a convenience store, a bar restaurant (The Nest) and Frankie's Taste of Italy (make reservations). The grounds offer grilling, picnic tables, and Adirondack chairs along with a tennis court. The property is a bit dated (i.e. here and there you will notice a small peel in the wall paper and a wrinkle in the carpet). The coffee provided in the room is tasteless- better to get the drip coffee offered in the office in the morning. The double beds were just inadequate for us as a couple. If you are near 6 ft you will likely find your feet dangling. My husband and I were split on the comfort of the mattress. He said terrible because he sunk. I said it was ok. Parking is advertised as free...know several spots nearest the main building/pool were just a bit tricky to get into and out. The mechanics (fans in bathroom for example) were noisy and we could hear our neighbors at night. Again, our tolerances for noise were different so for husband the stay was marked by a bit of broken sleep. Know that if you choose a first floor room, you are likely to have cars parked right outside your door and if you choose a second floor room with a balcony check first if you need an elevator (we did not see one). The Adirondack Lodge is an inexpensive option for families and couples. Get a room with a bed for your size, bring earplugs if you are sensitive to noise.

No parking when we got back the second night. So we had to park on the grass. The office called us to move which is fine, but he was nasty. We went in to talk to him and explain we had gone to the desk to let them know someone was in our spot and he he got nasty again and came around the desk towards us. My daughter stayed on another room and they had hair all over the sink as if someone had trimmed their. I would avoid this place at all cost.

Great Staff!!! We walked into the lobby to check in. We were greeted by the most energetic and nice front desk person we have met. She was great. The room was big and clean.

Audrey was awesome! Very friendly and attentive. The beds were sooo comfortable. Rooms were large and very clean. Loved having the balcony just to sit and relax!!

This is an older motel Style property that is very frequently seen in the Adirondacks. Clean, large motel rooms. Very quiet and safe, balcony and outdoor furniture well-maintained. Working Ice machine, and I’ve seen ritz carton’s with inconsistent ice machines(a must have)!! None of the mid grade hotel Smell of sanitizer. Simply a well maintained, “vintage” according to my daughter, Adirondack Motel! Definitely would come back :)

Clean, simple Clean, simple rooms; courteous staff. What more do you need? We'd stay again!
