Stage Run by the Sea

Room was spotless and the hotel is a quick 10 minute walk to downtown. The staff is very friendly and helpful and it comes in at a great price compared to other places in Ogunquit.

We stayed at the Stage Run by the Sea and from start to finish the service was exceptional! Liza accommodated our requests and went above and beyond to make our trip wonderful. The rooms were super clean, the pool area was nestled in the center of the motel rooms and easy to access! We will be back!

Clean and comfy, front desk staff friendly and helpful. Right on the main road easy to walk to restaurants etc. pool area was kept up, loved the quiet hours posted

The amenities were at a minimum. The TV was extremely difficult to maneuver the channels. Location was good. No paper cups for water. Mattress was sagging. Should put instructions on how to operate the TV. Pool was lovely.

My one night stay at the Stage Run By The Sea was lacking in even the bare basics, I’m sorry to say, as only 2 of the 5 light switches worked (the bathroom light and a light standing in the corner of the room). Good luck trying to do any grooming at the sink area, as there was no light switch that I could find. I had to shave by the light coming from the nearby bathroom. I was getting zero phone reception, and couldn’t find a WiFi password anywhere, so I had to call the front desk to get that. Lastly, there was no shampoo in either the bathroom or in packages anywhere, so I had to make do with a “shampoo” of soap and water. There were no food options for breakfast so I went out to pick up something. By the time I ate and was back in the room, it was about 10:15 am. I called to find out if check-out was at 11 or 12, and they said, “Ten.” Haven’t been to many places with check-out that early. Had to rush around and was able to check out at 10:30, which they kindly let me do without penalty. However, due to all the other issues, I don’t think I’ll plan to return.

The beds were firm yet very comfortable—we all slept well, including the kids. The room was generally clean, though the bathtub area could use a more thorough deep clean. That said, the shower had good water pressure and temperature. The pool was a highlight—our kids loved it, and the water temperature was just right. The hotel’s location was also excellent: only a 10-minute walk to the main part of town and about 15 minutes to the main beach. The only downside was the presence of ants and flies in the room. Despite that, we really enjoyed our stay overall.
