"My wife and I stayed here to collect stamps at the National Guest House. As a bonus for using our stamp book, we received a 300 yen voucher for both of us to use at the convenience store. Our room was a 10-tatami Japanese-style room, and the view outside the window was beautiful, with autumn leaves. There was one chair in the room, and my wife doesn't like tatami, so we sat on it. The bath water, which is also available for day use, is so smooth and beautiful it's like lotion. The hot spring is free and clear. From the open-air bath, you can see the mountains, where the autumn leaves are beginning to change color. The washroom area offers an all-in-one option. Dinner was a Japanese meal and a mini buffet (salad, rice, pickles, dessert, coffee, tea, etc. were all included in the buffet). We were delighted to see "waraji katsu" (strawberry cutlet) included in the buffet (a local delicacy). Our plan included a tasting of three different types of sake. Alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced. A full bottle of local Chichibu wine was 2,000 yen and 2,600 yen (half bottles also available), and a 300cc bottle of local sake was 880 yen. The alcohol was reasonably priced, so my wife said we should come back again. Breakfast was a buffet. The smooth hot spring water was especially good."
