Shilo Inn Suites Ocean Shores

We booked it for a fun convention. I was disappointed right off the bat. I put both my husband's name and mine on the prepay reservation. They insisted that my husband had to come in to show photo ID so they could confirm it really was us. The kitchenette had no towels or anything to wash with. They said they don't have kitchen towels or cloths. We booked 3 nights, they gave us 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels. They said they had a towel shortage. Brought our garbage to the front desk because we didn't know what else to do so they said, put it outside your door and give us a call about it being there. Although, there was no replacement bags in the room. When I went to take a shower, I learned that we had 2 hotel type conditioner bottles and 2 lotion bottles. No shampoo. We only got one mini bar of soap so I used it to wash my hair. The heater in our room didn't work right either. It was either blowing cold or hot when set on Auto. We did try several settings. We froze the first night. Cooked to death second night. Third night just cold but not freezing. I heard the restaurant isn't open yet. I could see things were being worked on but they also seem to have a lack of staff. I don't feel the cost was appropriate for the level of care. I did find 2 of the staff that really did seem to care. One stuck up woman and then lazy ones. Notice the unclean porch. The tore up base of front door.

Although the hotel was fated the room was clean. There is certain rustic feeling about the hotel that you’re stepping back in time. Will stay again.

I would avoid this hotel like the plague. We felt like we were in a Stephen King movie. There are no maids, the rooms and balconies are absolutely disgusting, there is no cable so the TVs don’t work, all the garbages in the lobby and hallways are full and stinky, no bedspreads on the beds, no toiletries in the bathroom, the AC doesn’t work and the list goes on. There is literally only one person working at the front desk. We called down to get extra towels to shower in the morning because we had to use the towels in the room for the chairs on the deck that were covered in bird poop. The person said we would have to come down to the lobby to grab them because there was no one else there. And the restaurant and lounge has been closed since 2020. The absolutely only good thing about this hotel is that we will never forget it and get some good laughs about what a craphole it was!

DON'T DO IT! Very nasty smell as soon as you walk in. The elevator is disgusting. The floor in the room was terribly soiled, room smelled and you wouldn't dare sit on the filthy couch. We covered the couch with a sheet and I still wouldn't sit on it! What a shame. 15 years ago, this was the most beautiful place to stay in. Now it's not suitable for your pets.

DO NOT. I repeat, DO NOT let them fool you into booking here! They were recently shut doen due to health violations, a gas leak, sewer issues and unpaid bills. It has also had reports of bed bugs!! We unknowingly booked a room for Sep 5-6 and the room was disgusting. If we could've found a room elsewhere, we would've moved, but there was a "furry" convention and everything was sold out. They have the nerve to charge $175-$200+ per night and they should not even be open at all. The restaurant was closed as was the pool. Everything else was filthy and old. The people who are left working there should be embarrased to let anyone even stay there. You will be sorry. This place needs to be shut down and maybe even condemned. They could try and do a mass cleaning, upgrade and remodel but it will costs tons of $$ that it doesn't sound like the owners will have any time soon. Google articles on it from this year and you will find all you need to know. If only we had done that first. Good luck!!

Hotel is shut down and closed yet still taking reservations. Even got a confirmation email two days ago for a room in a hotel that has been shut down and condemned!!! Phone number doesn’t answer and mail box is full.
