Property Description
The Pink Cottage started as a fishing shack in 1955, the year after hurricane Hazel. In 1968 the 2 bedrooms and a bathroom were added. Also the back porch was enclosed and the kitchen was added including a large deck facing the water. In 2021 the shack was completely renovated and became The Pink Cottage. An enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water was added. The kitchen is fully furnished including a dishwasher. The pink cottage overlooks Montgomery Slough with its tidal creek where at low tide the many species of birds feed, at high tide watch for the dolphins. You may access the Slough at 17th Place West where you can catch your own shrimp, crab, or just explore the marsh with all its abundant life. You can also launch your kayak from this access. Our stay at The Pink Cottage was amazing! It was just what my family needed. The pictures of the cottage don't do it justice. It is so beautifully decorated and clean. The view is so serene and it is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with a very short walk to the beach. It's the perfect place to be for exploring Oak Island. Thank you, John and Sarah for allowing us to be in your home

It is very cute! Good size for two Adults. Not a lot of closet space but a lot of dresser storage. Small dishwasher but was fine for us! Great views of marsh and sunsets! Love the back porch with rockers! It was spotless when we arrived! I really appreciated that! John and Sarah were very nice.
