The room has no air con n need to sleep with a fan on. The room is not very well clean as there are some cobweb n insects on the bedsheets. The shower is very open which is not suitable for family except couples. The room is very small n is not suitable for elderly as need to climb a steep steps. Staff not very approachable

The Wheatsheaf Inn is a charming inn in the Cotswolds, beautifully located for touring round the region. We wife and I stayed (for two nights) , with mother-in-law and sister-in-law. The room we had was the largest of the three with a lot of character, with stone walls and old furniture. The bed was fantastic, large and extremely comfortable. The bathrooom was large with Jack and Jill sinks. Nice touches were bottles of water, plentiful supply and choice of teas and coffee, and daily fresh milk for the beverages. There was also a fridge and a basket both full of local produce and drinks for us to try (at a cost). Our room was, however showing signs of wear (stained walls, broken toilet seat and flush handle, and signs of mould under the sink). Nevertheless the service was excellent thoughout (except perhaps in the dining room - separate review), the breakfasts were extremely good with a lot of variety for a cooked option) so that the hotel just about justified the quite high price that we paid for the two nights

Lovely room on first floor overlooking the courtyard restaurant. All staff incredibly helpful and friendly, we felt very well looked after. Lovely setting in village of Northleach, helped by glorious weather! Excellent breakfast and evening meal.

Great, booked this whilst in queue of traffic on M5, couldn,t have worked out better. We saw the room and immediately booked the same room for an extra night. Colleagues all hard working and very friendly, a pleasure to meet them all. Food spot on, really nice, we will recommend to all our friends and family and anyone else who knows us, you must try The Wheatsheaf!!

The food was ok, although the mash potato was absolutely awful and the portion of mushy peas holds the world record for the smallest portion. The bill included the SERVICE CHARGE, we refused to pay the service charge and were asked why, for then, had to wait until the bill was 're-done' The staff are there to provide a service and get paid to do so ( it's their job), the staff salary is reflected in the price, the staff get paid regardless of the service charge. Do you pay a service charge to the people who manufacture the products you use? Do you pay a service charge to the delivery companies who deliver your products? Then why should i, or anyone else be subjected to being asked for a service charge?

Lovely location, convenient for places like Bourton, Stow & Moreton, but in a nice quiet little town with it's own little shops & a nice wine bar (if you're not into the well kept Youngs beer at The Wheatsheef). Our room was an "outside" room but convenient for the bar & restaurant. Well appointed & clean. The only thing we weren't sure about was that it had no shower, but the bath was a nice change. Food in the restaurant was first class, including the Sunday roast, which was the best we've had for years & breakfast was great. The beer was great too. A nice garden & outside space to meet friends for a drink & eats. Parking was a bit of a challenge sometimes, with a small car park, but there was usually parking in the big street outside. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would have no hesitation in recommending The Wheatsheef to anyone.
