Nilka Xiyuan Tingyun Homestay ★★★★
"The newly opened homestay in Niluk County was a pleasant surprise. The room was spacious and comfortable. There were many guests to the store at night. It showed that this is a good choice for transit accommodation. The chef at the homestay cooks good dishes. After a tired day, he ate the chef cooks home-cooked dishes, which is light and delicious. Very rare!"
Surprise Hotel (Tangbula Mengkete Scenic Area) ★★★★
"Absolutely fantastic! The location is perfect, the room was spotless, and the service was outstanding. They even upgraded our room, which was a lovely surprise."
Ili Nilek Small Full Guest House ★★★★
"I had high expectations for the comfort of a B&B that cost over 1,500 yuan, but I was still disappointed. Disadvantages: 1. The sanitation is not in place. The sewer in the bathroom is seriously blocked and the water cannot flow down. After the staff came to clear it, the sewer smelled very bad. Also, the shower water is low and not hot. 2. Most of the furniture in the room is made of heavy wood. The protruding crossbeams on the edge of the bed are easily bumped, and the tiles next to the bathroom door are protruding and easily bumped. 3. There was no signal in the room because the network was broken and it was not repaired in time. No service at all. Advantages: The dinner dishes are delicious and reasonably priced. Although the breakfast varieties are not large, they taste good and fresh. I hope the facilities, hygiene and environment are worthy of the price of the house."
Nilka Ancient Road Lanting Homestay ★★★
"The room might have been recently renovated, as there was a strong smell of paint when I opened the door. After airing it out for a bit, I ended up catching a huge moth and a large fly. Let's talk about the bathroom next. The window was transparent, so you could see parts of the bathroom from outside. Even though the guesthouse is next to a grassland on the right, there are still plenty of other guesthouses on the left. I had to use a towel to cover the window myself. In the shower, I turned the tap to the left for over a minute, but there was no hot water. I wondered if it should be turned to the right, and after almost a minute, it was still cold. However, the sink tap had hot water when turned to the left. I continued to turn the shower tap to the left for over three minutes, but it was still cold. I went downstairs to find the manager, who told me hot water should come out when turned to the right, and that some taps were installed incorrectly during renovation. I told them the right side was also cold, and they replied that my room was a bit on the edge, and the pipes were long, so I needed to let the water run longer. Speechless... And the stench from the toilet was absolutely unbearable. Every flush filled the entire room with a terrible smell, even with the door closed. I had to spray a lot of mosquito repellent, and I barely slept all night. Since it was too late and I was only staying one night, I didn't bother asking the manager to change rooms."
Nilka Midu Chinese Inn ★★
Surprise Hotel ★★★★
"Right at the Qiao'erma entrance to Duku Highway, giving us plenty of time to enter Duku early in the morning. The hotel views are fantastic, with a large expanse of grassland. The breakfast selection is also very diverse, and the rooms are spacious."
Nilka Liangqi Mountain Lodge Hotel (Mengket Scenic Area) ★★★★
"I specifically chose this hotel because it's pet-friendly, and I was very happy with it. The facilities are all brand new, there's a free gym, and it's conveniently located for sightseeing. Highly recommend!"
Yunqi Gallery Homestay (Bee Town Branch) ★★
"The hygiene was excellent, the rooms were clean and bright, and the basic amenities were complete. Nestled in the mountains, the accommodations offered breathtaking views of blue skies, white clouds, and distant peaks in a tranquil environment. There was also a restaurant, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. Overall, a very good experience."

Nilka Fairy Lake Spruce Starry Reflection Camping Hotel
"Here's a visual feast! The four of us hiked up to Xiannv Lake, and we were incredibly lucky to have a bright, sunny day – truly, sunshine is the best filter for a Xinjiang trip. Xiannv Lake sits in the mountains like a pristine maiden, so serene. Upon reaching the camp, the owner treated us to hand-drip coffee, making for a wonderfully cozy atmosphere. **Environment:** Full marks! Surrounded by a sea of flowers. **Service:** The camp 'uncle' (owner/manager) stir-fried some side dishes for us, and dinner was absolutely filling. We tried to pay him, but he flat-out refused! We were so touched, it felt just like being at home. **Facilities:** Everything is so new and incredibly clean. The bedding even smells like sunshine. **Hygiene:** There are public washing taps, and the 'auntie' (another staff member) told us it's natural mountain spring water – sweet and refreshing, pure bliss! Finding such a warm and comfortable camp on our Yili trip felt like winning the lottery. My heart is bursting with excitement. Just look at the pictures – we'll definitely be back to Tangbula!"
Nilka County Fuxin Chinese Inn
"Would highly recommend, 10/10. I’ve been cycling across China and was here for a week with an injury. The staff were amazing and looked after me the whole week, and I can’t thank them enough. They made me feel highly welcome as a foreign cyclist, and I’m sad I can’t stay longer! 强烈推荐,10/10!我骑自行车横穿中国时因为受伤,在这里住了一个星期。这里的工作人员非常棒,整个星期都非常照顾我,我真的非常感谢他们。他们让我这位外国骑行者感到特别受欢迎、特别温暖。我很遗憾不能待得更久!"
Duku Secret Realm · STARRY SKY · Baili Wild Luxury Camp
"This "luxury wilderness" campsite in Tangbula was... well, let's just say it left something to be desired. What exactly is the campsite's positioning? Is it "wild"? Is it "luxury"? Environment: The campsite isn't large, and there are high-voltage power lines right next to it, both in front and behind. Firstly, the power lines and towers are unsightly, and secondly, there are concerns about radiation. After dinner, while taking a walk, we encountered unleashed dogs running rampant on the wooden boardwalk. The camp staff were laughing and admiring the dogs' "freedom" and "cuteness." Is this "luxury wilderness"? Rooms: The comfort level was poor. I assumed the campsite rooms wouldn't be large, and since it's "luxury wilderness," the facilities might be decent. However, it took over ten minutes for hot water to come out in the shower, and the soundproofing was poor! The toiletries and toilet paper were mediocre. Rest: In the evening, a high-powered speaker blared in the center of the campsite, close to the rooms. The poor soundproofing made it impossible to rest properly, which was unbearable. We complained, it stopped for a while, then started again, and only gradually stopped after further complaints. Is this "luxury wilderness"? Dinner: We ate at the campsite's restaurant. Looking at the menu, the prices were on the expensive side but acceptable, so we chose to eat there. However, the food didn't match the description and the price-performance ratio was extremely low. A serving of potato and beef slices only contained three slices of beef, one of which was too tough to chew, and the amount of potato was also minimal. The lamb chop pilaf we ordered took half an hour to arrive; what came was lamb pilaf (cheaper than lamb chop pilaf), and it was cold and inedible. Fortunately, the restaurant manager refunded us for the pilaf. Is this "wilderness luxury"? Breakfast: Very simple, not even coffee. Is this "wilderness luxury"? Service: The staff responsible for room communication were friendly and responded quickly. There was no "wild" scenery, and certainly no "luxurious" food or accommodation."
Xian Mengyu Homestay
"Big and Nice bedrooms. Make sure they accept international clients before going in."
Yili nlk tuoye Camp.
"The environment is very good, the boss helped upgrade the house, the large window on the slope is facing the mountain, and the starry sky can be seen in the bed at night. What is even more surprising is that the bedding is particularly good, the mattress, quilt and pillow are super comfortable. Going out is the mountain and the big river, there are swings to play, spent a night in the quiet mountains, very happy. The boss also has a cute puppy! Super sticky! recommend!"
Shoujia Hotel (Bee Town)
"Everything was as it is shown in the pictures. The window in the room goes towards the corridor. We could store our bicycles in the inner courtyard under a roof. We really enjoyed our stay and can recommend it."
Nilka County Grasslands Inn
"Speechless. The standard room was incredibly tiny. The style was very old-fashioned. And this guesthouse even tried to overcharge!"
Nilka · Baili Valley Mountain View Homestay (Monkete Scenic Area)
"I wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse in the Mengkete River Valley! It was the most comfortable stay I had during my trip to Tangbula! The location is absolutely amazing, right on the edge of the Hundred-Mile River Valley. Stepping outside, you're surrounded by grasslands and snow-capped mountains. Everywhere you look is lush greenery and clear water. The air is incredibly fresh, and the place is quiet and comfortable – a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The guesthouse was exceptionally clean and tidy. The rooms were impeccably arranged, and the beds were very comfortable. Even though it can get a bit chilly in the mountains at night, the room was perfectly warm, making for a very comfortable stay. The owner is incredibly honest and welcoming. He's very genuine and patiently explains nearby tourist routes and photogenic spots, and he's very thoughtful and attentive. The food is also authentic local cuisine, with fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. If you're visiting Mengkete, hiking the ancient trails, or exploring the Hundred-Mile Gallery, this guesthouse is a must-stay. It's great value for money, has a wonderful environment, and the owners are genuinely kind. I'll definitely choose this place again next time!"
YunShanShu
"Choosing Yunshansu Guesthouse in Nilka was truly a wonderful stroke of luck. We had originally planned a trip to Xiata, but due to bad weather, we detoured to the Tangbula Baili Gallery. Our friends in Xinjiang had highly recommended the area, so I picked a guesthouse on Ctrip with high ratings and beautiful photos – Yunshansu. To my surprise, when we arrived, the actual place was even more stunning than the pictures. Yunshansu is located in the first half of the Tangbula Baili Gallery. Guesthouses aren't densely packed here, and it's far from the bustling campsites and rows of yurts, making the environment exceptionally quiet. For those of us who enjoy slowly taking in the scenery and savoring leisure time, this place is much more comfortable and offers a better vacation vibe than the lively grassland camps. The guesthouse sits peacefully on the edge of the prairie, surrounded by open and tranquil spaces. Sitting in the room, the window offers an endless view of the grassland. My daughter exclaimed, "It feels like we're living right on the prairie!" There were tables and chairs in the courtyard; brewing a cup of tea and listening to the swallows chirp, time seemed to slow down. What was even more touching was the owner's family. Many online reviews praised their hospitality, and I realized it wasn't an exaggeration at all when I arrived. Our party included three generations: my 80-year-old mother, my 18-year-old daughter, and myself, and our luggage was bulky and heavy. From the moment we parked, the owner proactively helped us park the car and carry our luggage all the way to our room, instantly making us feel at home after our long journey. It was late when we arrived, so we decided to have dinner at the guesthouse. The owner recommended 'big plate chicken,' 'spinach and gluten salad,' and 'cabbage with vermicelli.' Each dish was freshly stir-fried and served piping hot. We had only intended to grab a simple meal, but the taste was unexpectedly good, easily on par with outside restaurants, and it was clean and hygienic. Afterward, we almost always pre-ordered our dinner on our way back every day, so we could enjoy a hot meal as soon as we returned to the guesthouse – a truly blissful feeling. The room experience was equally surprising. The bedding was comfortable, facilities were complete, and the cleanliness was meticulously maintained, with many details rivaling even star-rated hotels. I especially want to praise the projector in the room. Usually, when staying at hotels, the TV is mostly decorative and rarely turned on, but a projector is different. Returning to the room at night, snuggling in bed to watch your favorite movies, documentaries, or variety shows instantly creates a wonderful ambiance. Outside, there's the prairie and the sunset glow; inside, warm, cozy lighting and the projection screen – a sense of relaxation that many hotels can't provide. But what I found most unforgettable was the scenery every morning and evening. Lying in bed at night, through the window, you could see the sunset slowly descending below the horizon over the prairie. The golden afterglow illuminated the entire valley, painting the grassland and distant mountains in gentle hues, so beautiful you couldn't tear your eyes away. Waking up in the morning and drawing back the curtains revealed the vast, endless prairie, with little ponies occasionally galloping playfully across the grass. That feeling of being so close to nature made you instantly forget the hustle and bustle of city life. Additionally, the temperature difference between day and night in the prairie region is significant, but the air conditioning in the room provided excellent heating. Returning to a warm room at night, taking a hot shower, and then snuggling into the comfortable duvet meant a solid night's sleep until morning, which was incredibly comforting. On the second day, while touring the Tangbula Baili Gallery, the owner thoughtfully recommended a suitable route for our family, considering both my mother and daughter. The guesthouse also thoughtfully provided foldable camping chairs that we could take with us in the car. Whenever we saw a favorite view, we could stop and sit for a while, gazing at the distant mountains and feeling the breeze – making the trip leisurely and delightful. And the biggest surprise of this trip was actually the Mengket Ancient Trail, recommended by the owner. Honestly, I personally found the Mengket Ancient Trail even more stunning than the Baili Gallery. Snow-capped mountains, forests, streams, and meadows intertwined, with beauty everywhere you looked. We spent a full four hours there and didn't feel tired at all. We stopped and started, and whenever we encountered a beautiful view, we'd unfold our camping chairs to sit and relax, take photos, and admire the scenery. If only we had a pot of hot tea at that moment, it would have been the most idyllic moment of life. I sincerely recommend that friends visiting Tangbula set aside a full day for the Mengket Ancient Trail. Besides the beautiful scenery, there were many other heartwarming little details. Early on the second morning, the owner even specially took the children to experience nomadic life. At the nearby farmer's house, they could milk sheep and hold lambs, which was a fresh and memorable experience for city-dwelling children. Watching the lambs frolic around and personally experiencing the daily life of a herder made them feel truly integrated into the prairie. The children had a blast, and the adults also rediscovered long-lost joy in this experience. Breakfast also had a homey feel. Millet porridge, corn, and refreshing cold dishes – simple yet comforting, without the noise of a hotel buffet, but with a rare warmth. After breakfast, gazing at the distant prairie and livestock, one felt completely relaxed. I've stayed in many hotels and guesthouses during my travels, but places like Yunshansu, which combine scenery, delicious food, and genuine hospitality, are rare. If you come to Tangbula, I wholeheartedly recommend staying here for two nights. Slow down, watch the prairie, the sunset, listen to the swallows, snuggle in bed at night watching the projector, and during the day, experience the vastness of Xinjiang in the Baili Gallery and Mengket Ancient Trail. There's no deliberate commercialism, no noisy crowds, just the prairie, sunset, gentle breeze, and the most unpretentious hospitality. Here, you will truly feel the vastness and gentleness of Xinjiang. Sometimes, a good guesthouse is not just a place to sleep during a journey but also becomes one of the warmest memories of a trip. And Yunshansu was one of the most beautiful parts of this Tangbula journey. 🌿☀️🐑🏔️"
