Due to closure of the M5 and grid lock we decided to stay an extra night at our favourite Moorland Hotel. Haytor. Fully booked but offered a small comfortable room. A good size bed. Great atmosphere with comfortable bar restaurant for those with dogs. Restaurant overlooking the grounds. Superb well known moorland location with lovely grounds, good food, excellent staff. Always a joy to come back to.

Returned for another short break with my family. Staff are really helpful and polite, gardens and outdoor seating area is beautiful! Rooms are tastefully done and comfortable. The food is wonderful and cater well for gluten free. You have the choice of eating in the pub part or restaurant over looking the grounds. Only fault was two of our families rooms weren’t properly cleaned each day. All in all though a great stay and we all look forward to returning next year.

We had a reunion at lunchtime, which was fine, if not exciting. But it was nice collection of quiches with salad. All jolly nice. The hotel and it's setting is absolutely superb, a gem within Dartmoor. The grounds are very well maintained, so it feels a little like being a guest in a rather nice house.
