The Briers ★★★★
"Had a great stay here and will definitely return, i was a solo traveller with my dog. The Briers had excellent service and nothing was to much trouble. Location is first class, The Briers is in a peaceful location but also so close to Tullymore forest park, Newcastle beach and so much more."
Slieve Donard ★★★★★
"A shame considering this is such a beautiful hotel and we had anticipated so much more.. We had a poor experience and there didn’t seem to be an option for us to complain during our stay on here. Initially arrived and our room door was broken meaning we were delayed getting into to our room.. During the wait we noticed a Dog coming out of the room next door which with allergies we couldn’t accept and therefore requested a change of room which was agreed. Upon going to our new room it was made up for a family with 2 singles a sofa bed and a dog bed with dog bowls sitting (not at all the luxury hotel room we had anticipated) This room was then again changed adding to our delay to start enjoying our trip. Once settled into our third Room we opted to have a cup of coffee from the advertised coffee machine however this just ran off coloured water with floating bits (noted to the hotel) Not wanting to waste anymore time we went down to the spa and relaxed in the pool etc. We were left with a card to leave on the door for room service breakfast which we thought would be a lovely touch (additional cost affordable) We followed the instruction and later fell asleep looking forward to breakfast in bed however our breakfast didn’t come (our card had been lost in the kitchen and therefore we had to ring down and received our breakfast over an hour late) we then had to ring again as the condiments we selected were also missing. This has been an experienced full of delays and disappointment and even when given extra time to have our breakfast and get ready we were constantly interrupted by house keeping as reception had failed to communicate we were being given extra time. Not sure if we would return to this hotel which is a shame as I’m sure had everything been organised better we would have enjoyed the amenities."
Dundrum Inn ★★★
"Why wouldn’t you want to, a fantastic meal 5 star, ambience fantastic, these guys want to make your experience out of this world even down to the very hand towels to dry your hands in instead of those awful machines. The wine is fabulous when you tell them what you want they give it to you. Cannot recommend them highly enough.5 star all the way"
Avoca Hotel ★★★
Enniskeen Country House Hotel ★★★
"First time staying in this hotel. We were very impressed rooms very clean. The view of the mountains was exceptional. The service from Chris was excellent. We definitely will be staying again."
Burrendale Hotel Country Club & Spa ★★★★
"One of my favourite Hotels and it never lets me down. Location is fantastic, beautiful view of the Mourne Mountains and only a 5 minute walk into the town. The accommodation is excellent, rooms pristine and with all the facilities you require. All the staff reception, house keeping, bar staff, restaurant staff are engaging and helpful. Food and service in the restaurant was also excellent. Highly recommend."
The Donard Hotel ★★★
"Absolutely love this hotel it really is the best where it's located prefect very clean, rooms are prefect."
Blue Door Apartments ★★★
"We stayed two nights at this one bedroom apartment. It was perfect for my husband and I. Decorated beautifully and spotless. Large living, dining and kitchen room with three windows for good light. Bedroom was fine and a large bathroom. Easy access in and out. The apartment is on the start of the high street and behind is the beach and promenade. Plenty of walks around the area. The lovely owner Dana made us very welcome and she also has the Shimna cafe downstairs in which you have your breakfast, good quality of food and coffee. The staff are also very friendly and you feel part of the community. Seating indoors and outside. I have no problem recommending this lovely place and I'm sure all the accommodations belonging to Blue Door as as lovely as ours . We will certainly return in the near future."
A Cosy Place in the Heart of the Mournes ★★★
