Red Roof Inn & Suites Newburgh - Stewart Airport/ West Point

Room 242 for one night. Well cared for 2-story property; welcoming and very accommodating crew at check-in (the manager at check was friendly as well): very small elevator (there are also stairs); plush carpet in wide, well lit hallways; clean and nicely appointed room; small but efficient bath with a quality, heavy duty toilet seat (not plastic, which is appreciated) : ) cozy bed which is soft yet firm; medium firm pillows; typical amenities: desk, closet with hanging space, large screen TV, mini fridge, microwave, iron and board, hairdryer, clock and phone. Property has coffee, juice and hot water available to guests 24 hours; they supply a small sack of snacks to guests during breakfast time. Some slight residual road noise but very light sleepers could request a room on the back side. Property is convenient to the highway and is sited on a hill above a main road that looks out on the Hudson River. Reasonably priced. Recommended. I would stay here again. (Note: the property was undergoing renovations in mid-September, 2023. It's possible that they may return to their regular breakfast service (there's sa dedicated room for it) once the renovations are complete.) Also, they recycle at this location. Was told you can leave your recyclables in the room and housekeeping with pick it up.

This hotel is clean and the rooms are also clean. The bed is comfortable and the room is large enought to walk around. The staff is friendly. This hotel does not offer meals, however coffee and orange juices are available all day. Try to book a room with a view of the hillside .There is a diner aproximately 20 paces from this hotel, within walking distance that also have a bar 24/7. I will go here again

When arriving, it was a hot, sunny day and pool area extremely hot, humid and it felt suffocating. Large sliding doors are supposed to provide cooling. However, all but one doors are screwed shut. The one working door only opens about 8 inches due to some issues (kids stealing, was told?). No way I could sit in there and watch kids play. AC in room is good at cooling but sounds like a plastic bag is flapping around inside which was very loud and sleep depriving! Coffee good but no breakfast except for lunch bag with muffin and two snacks - this must be a left over from years past (cost saver?). Bed is very high. Pretty much climb in if you're short. I'm about 5ft 10 and even my feet dangle several inches when seated. I've stayed here before when owned by another firm and was very happy. Staff was fine and house keeping was very nice. Also, no Fox News but they do have MSNBC (also have Fox Biz -what ??). Won't be back.

We stayed here one night on our road trip and absolutely loved this hotel. Rooms seemed to be recently refreshed and the beds were most comfortable. Needless to say, we slept very well. Our room had a great lake view, and there is a lovely terrace over the front portico. Unfortunately we were here on a rainy day, but the views were still nice (they are probably spectacular on a sunny day in fall!). Bottom line, a great, clean option for a day or even a few. We will stay here again!

This hotel has a great location close to the Steward Int'l Airport with a park and ride service. Great quality at a great rate - comfortable beds, very clean and loved the deck and lounge area. We utilized the park and ride and could not have asked for better service from Trevor. He ensured we made it on time to the airport and gave us details for our return. It was a seamless process. Thanks again, Trevor. Your service was very much appreciated, and your sense of humor was a ray of sunshine!

The front desk was nice, room was clean, very quiet, I have no complaints. I always stop at the Red Roof Inn when I have a quick overnight stay in Newburgh. I'll most likely come again and hopefully I remember to stop by the pool, I always see guest having fun.

The older lady 70's was with her small dog and her room was apparently arranged, paid by the person who set the reservation. She was not able to easily register. She was visiting the area for a wedding. The counter person, middle age white man, treated her badly by making a big deal when she asked to use the phone to contact the person that set the reservation. She did not have a phone. She was finally able to use the phone, register and get her door card. Upon exisiting, her dog which was leashed was attack by an unleashed pittbull. The pittbull and their owners (will plainly state, white-trash family) where staying their per insurance paid stay, since their home was lost to fire. The attack was horrific, the pittbull latched on to her smaller 20 lbs good and the 50 lbs pittbull would not let go of the maulled face of the smaller dog. Aftet what felt like an hour, the pittbull was pulled off the other dog by the white-trash male, that also threathend other onlookers. Inparticular a young boy 14 y.o. that was taking phone video of the incident. The police were called, finally arrived and took another hour to resolve what to do about the pittbull that was now trapped between the set of lobby doors. My family was staying for a different wedding in the area. We had borded our young 6 month old dog, instead of bring it to the supposed pet friendly motel. So glad we did as we also checked in around the sametime as the other lady. From this experience, I will never stay at this location again, we could not find another place that day and did not sleep well. Could not wait to leave, we did so early. We will also never bring our dog to any pet friendly hotel, motel for this reason.

Don't get why this place gets such good ratings. It's pretty gross. Don't want to walk on the rugs without shoes. Room smells. Internet barely works. It's gross. It's what you'd expect a Red Roof Inn would be. The ratings are deceiving.

Place needs updating. The pool (which is why we picked this place) is closed and black and breakfast is no longer provided (instead you pick up a brown bag at the front desk - mine hade a package of chocolate chip cookies and a bag of peanuts! The tv has no guide so you have no idea what is on. We were told upon check-in that "since you are staying 2 days there is no housekeeping, but you can get fresh towels from the front desk" . There is no safe in the room. Only bright spot is they provided free coffee which tasted good.
