Its location makes it an easy stopover en route to Raleigh, but the charm of the property encourages lingering. On arrival, the first impression is delightfully playful: each door painted in a different hue, lending the historic motor court a vibrant personality. Inside, the accommodations balance practicality with comfort. Our family booked two rooms one for ourselves and another for our 11-year-old son, Miles, who was thrilled to discover bunkbeds in his space. Both rooms featured compact kitchens equipped with cookware, microwaves, and dishwashers, a thoughtful touch for travelers who prefer the ease of preparing their own meals. The interiors are spacious, with beds that invite deep, restful sleep after a day of exploring the High Country. While we noted the absence of an iron, the overall attention to detail and maintenance more than compensated. Blue Ridge Tourist Court is not just a place to stay it’s a slice of history polished for the present day. Families will appreciate its clean, well-kept spaces, its convenience, and its subtle nods to the past, all wrapped in a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home in the mountains."
