Parking: Free parking is available in a secure garage, which is particularly appreciated for its convenience and safety. Some guests noted the need for better lighting or maintenance, but the availability of parking remains a consistent positive.

This property had a lot of potential as an awesome stay for two friends and I but unfortunately the stay was ruined by the construction happening next door and we ended up with a less than relaxing getaway. 72 hours before check in, I received a text from corporate alerting me to possible construction noise, but there was no offer for a refund and at that point, it was too late to re-book with another hotel anyhow. First, the pros for this hotel: great location in the Garden District, streetcar stop right out front, eclectic boutique style, comfy beds and pillows, nice in-room amenities like hand wash, lotion, and shampoo/conditioner/body wash pumps in the shower, and a Keurig coffee bar in the lobby. My friends and I checked in on a Friday afternoon and quickly realized that our room overlooked the major commercial construction project right next door to the hotel; a multi story building is going up. Work was done for the day, so we hoped for the best. After night fell, we noticed that a giant construction floodlight was shining directly into our room (this light stays on all night long) and despite pulling the light blocking curtains, our room was still well lit by fluorescent lights. I immediately called down to the front desk and requested a room change for our stay but was told that no other rooms were available. The next morning (Saturday) we were awoken at 7am by construction noise. The flimsy earplugs the hotel is currently offering, by the way, do nothing to mask the jackhammers and skid steers that are operating right outside the windows. I spoke with the woman at the front desk and again asked for a room change given that there would be guests checking out that day. I was again told that no other rooms were available for us to move to. We asked to speak with the hotel manager and were told that no manager was onsite until the following Monday, which seemed unbelievable, but that's as far as we got. On Sunday morning we were awoken at 8am by the construction crews. Each day, the construction lasted until 5pm. On Monday morning, the crews began work at 6am. At this point, I called the hotel's corporate office directly and filed a complaint and was told that onsite management would be handling any kind of refund for our trouble. Later that day upon checking out, we finally met the general manager who explained that a partial refund had already been taken care of by staff over the weekend. What?!? At what point was I going to be told about a partial refund on our stay? I wasted 45 minutes on the phone with corporate that morning, only to discover that a partial refund had already been issued by the local staff. I appreciate the gesture, but unfortunately, the staff we dealt with over the weekend fell far short of any type of customer oriented service; each person we spoke with was rude, unapologetic, and seemed totally annoyed to have to answer questions from guests.
