This hotel is simply different. It has everything you need without the fake pleasantries of standardized chains. So don’t expect forced smiles or other nonsense. Expect a unique experience that will quickly immerse you in the vibe of the city. The people at the front desk are not only helpful but also open to real conversation. The manager is personable and genuinely committed to this place — she even offered to take a very important postcard of mine to the post office. That kind of care is rare. Now, let me tell you about the property. The style is urban, and references to the historical significance of the place are everywhere. Knowing that, in the long run, hotels require proper maintenance, I truly hope the Dew Drop Inn won’t overlook this — because the hotel is genuinely beautiful and deserves to stay that way. The room I stayed in had an incredibly comfortable bed, and I always slept well. I hope to return to New Orleans soon — and one thing’s for sure: when I do, I’ll definitely stay here again.

Staying at the Dew Drop was not only fun and convenient, but made us feel like we were getting to experience the real New Orleans that Ray Charles, B.B. King, Little Richard, Alan Toussaint and so many others got to experience, not the phony, made-up version. The rooms, the staff and the pool are all first first rate. Our friends kept talking the whole time we were there about the incredibly comfortable beds. We're already planning to stay in the Ray Charles room that overlooks the pool next time we go. The music venue and bar that guests have their own door to was one of the highlights our stay. We went to an amazing open mike night where we expected a typical "open mike" night and were instead blown away by the level of the talent and the great atmosphere. Plus we were ten minutes from the French Quarter but half the price of French Quarter hotels. If you want the real New Orleans experience , stay at the Dew Drop Inn.

We stayed for just under a week and found that staff were really friendly! The bed was also very comfortable. I hate being cold and there was a slight issue with the AC for me but they were attentive and happy to move us to a different room. I would recommend if you have no problem with music late at night as they have shows on during the evenings some nights but these had a lovely atmosphere so I would tell everyone to check it out if you go to stay!

The reserved and confirmed room was not available! The alternative room for the first night was not ready/prepared - we had to go up and down to get pillows and blankets! We reserved and paid a table for brunch on Sunday! The brunch was cancelled without any prior information. Two hours before start I received another reminder email that the brunch is about to begin in 2h (11am)?!?!

This review is for the Saturday brunch and show. A great buffet and wonderful entertainment, woven with a sense of history and family. Enhance your visit to New Orleans with some music history - yeah, you can eat well and drink, too! The people who have restored this building and its place in New Orleans and music history have done a wonderful job of it.

I chose to stay at the Dew Drop Inn because of the historic nostalgia displayed on their website and on social media. I was extremely disappointed. I am a local and was also there solo. I wanted to patronage a facility that had everything, so I would not have to leave at all. I was celebrating my birthday and just wanted a pleasant and safe experience. The room was nice. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. The restaurant and bar were closed. There is a menu for the restaurant and bar online, but I was told that it is only open when they have performances. Maybe they should notate this on their website because it wasn’t on there. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. They even offered suggestions for places that I could Uber close by to eat/drink. The staff helped bring my luggage upstairs. That was nice of them. There is no elevator, but the hotel is only two stories.

The room very good. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The employees were so nice. We have stayed there twice and never disappointed. This is a jewel in the city. It was very clean and the shower was very good. It is easy to make reservations.
