"Hotel is in a lovely location and it is a beautiful building. Rooms were large and some had fantastic views. They were clean with plenty of teabags, coffee, kettle etc. The downside was not enough staff around - especially when we had dinner there. Some meals were ok but others really not good which is a shame. Breakfast was very good. More gluten free choices would be helpful."

"Was a very sweet hotel, with the most AMAZING team I’ve ever met. The Restaurant is in much need of some love. But everything was perfect, my kids absolutely loved it, there were things for them to do (drawing, playing uno) the staff couldn’t have been better. Kiera was an absolute super star with us and the kids, she is an absolute asset to your site. All other staff were lovely, think Rhys may have been out server. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely come again!!"

"I been here probably 15 times. This place it’s just amazing, every time I come to visit New Forest I book The Retreat New Forest for my staying with my dogs! There it’s pet friendly and no charge for dogs (that’s fantastic) a big bonus for me so why I come here many time! The room it’s clean, very comfy and relaxing! I recommend if you’re coming around New Forest with your furry friends, don’t hesitate to stay there!"

"We used The retreat as a one night stop over, and didn't use any of the other amenities, so can't speak to them, but the stay we had ticked all the boxes. Really easy to get into the room, nice spacious room over looking the fields. Great bath and shower ensuite. TV easy to use etc. Quiet, Clean, and comfortable bed & room. Warm room and hot water. And good price! The restaurant and cafe looked nice but we didn't use them."

"Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Bell using it as a base for exploring Portsmouth just 25 minutes drive away. Evening meal and Breakfast were excellent and the service friendly and courteous. Room was a good size but extremely warm, despite there being no heating turned on. There was a fan available but we used the minimal window ventilation as an alternative. This allowed the modest noise from passing traffic to be heard but fortunately this did not affect our good nights sleep."

"Second time visiting and cannot fault it! Both lodges we have stayed in have been immaculate and had everything we’ve needed and more! We got so lucky this weekend with the sunshine and enjoyed a couple of barbecues on the decking! ☀️ Such a tranquil location and a perfect getaway from day to day life! The jacuzzi bath, the hot tub and the little touches like cake and bread were all very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed! Already cannot wait to book in again! ❤️"
