Touring au Lac

Touring au Lac ★★★

📍 Pl. Numa-Droz 1, Neuchatel

"Nice hotel by the ferry harbor in Neuchâtel. They also hold bags if you need."

Hotel Beaulac
9.4 (136 reviews)

Hotel Beaulac ★★★★

📍 Esp. Léopold-Robert 2, Neuchatel

"Stayed for four nights in a family suite, which was comfortable and large enough, with good service. People in the small city were very welcoming, the food was good, and it was by the lake, and when the sun was out you could see the sunrise and sunset, with nice scenery."

Arts Hotel
8.4 (103 reviews)

Arts Hotel ★★★

📍 Rue J.-L.-Pourtalès 3, Neuchatel

"Service was fine once an effort was made to keep the reception happy. Fine but simple accommodation. No fridge. No airconditioning which made for a very hot room on a 30+ day with the sun shining into the rooms. Did not cool overnight."

Hôtel Alpes & Lac
8.5 (62 reviews)

Hôtel Alpes & Lac ★★★

📍 Place de La Gare 2, Neuchatel

"Such a beautiful hotel just across the train station. I got a room with a fantastic view. Breakfast was nuce too."

Hotel Palafitte
9.0 (40 reviews)

Hotel Palafitte ★★★★★

📍 Rte des Gouttes-d'Or 2, Neuchatel

"What is priceless about this hotel is its location, otherwise I can only think of the German expression which so fittingly describes it as “In die Jahre gekommen”. Reception was good, otherwise service and food were rather disappointing and once even downright terrible. Pity."

Beau Rivage Hotel
8.9 (47 reviews)

Beau Rivage Hotel ★★★★★

📍 Esp. du Mont-Blanc 1, Neuchatel

"Everything was perfect and the cherry on the cake was the Bulgari products in the bathroom. A pure delight!"

Petit Hôtel de Chaumont
9.0 (6 reviews)

Petit Hôtel de Chaumont ★★★

📍 Chemin de la Tour 20, Neuchatel

"This was the worst experience I've ever had. The staff were needlessly rude, and we had to wait over 15 minutes for our order. Despite the high prices, basic courtesy like a simple "hello" or "thank you" was completely missing. A perfect example of how *not* to treat customers."

Hôtel de l'Ecluse
8.5 (12 reviews)

Hôtel de l'Ecluse ★★★

📍 Rue de l'Ecluse 24, Neuchatel

"The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly and always ready to help or provide information. The rooms are very nice and have everything you need. Mine even had a small kitchenette (which can be handy 😉). It's close to the lake, the castle, the pedestrian streets, the train station, and bus lines. Perfect for visiting Neuchâtel!"

Touring au Lac ★★★
"Overall, it is a cost-effective hotel in Naxatere. The surrounding environment is good and the traffic is convenient. The only bad thing is that there will be noise when the buffet downstairs is closed at night."

Hotel Beaulac ★★★★
"The biggest advantage of this hotel is the excellent soundproofing! There is a city activity day on the weekend. I know it is extremely noisy outside, but I can hardly hear the sound. In addition, there are Chinese sockets, so there is no need to convert plugs. In short, although it is a bit expensive, it is very cost-effective."

"The room has a balcony where you can smoke. It's very close to Lake Neuchâtel, there's a bar downstairs where you can have a drink, and the cable car is very nearby. It's also convenient for taking the train."

"A suite on the water is quite expensive, but worth every penny. Sleeping on the water, secluded from view, jumping into the lake from your private terrace—where else can you find that? Unfortunately, the restaurant is highly uninspiring (we only tried it twice during our three stays...). It's better to buy some bread and cheese in town, order a nice salad from room service, and enjoy the terrace. A very special place, with some drawbacks in terms of both food and service."

Beau Rivage Hotel ★★★★★
"The hotel is located in the center of the city with grand lake view. It’s walking distance to the town with lots of good restaurant options. The hotel itself has a restaurant but it doesn’t open on Mon. The food is delicious. One bottle of water is provided and you can either order room service for water or buy water from nearby coops. Strongly recommend the family to stay."

"I was looking for another hotel in Neuchâtel, since I was fed up with the previous one (Beaulac). I found this one, which is, after that first stay, my new place there! Check-in was efficient. I was given a nice room, with everything expected in a *** hotel. Breakfast was all right. And staff were all pleasant. A nice place to stay, close to everything in Neuchâtel."

Les Galeries Marval ★★★★
"The location is excellent, and the unit itself was nice. Unfortunately, our experience getting into the property was one of the most frustrating travel experiences I've had. We booked through a third-party travel site and were not aware that check-in effectively ends at 7:00 PM. After arriving in Neuchâtel, we spent considerable time trying to locate the property. When we finally found it, we discovered it was closed. Since access is managed through the art gallery, there was no reception staff available, and the phone numbers posted on the door did not work. After a long international flight and while dealing with jet lag, we were left standing outside without access to our accommodations and ultimately had to book and pay for another hotel for the night. Later, after spending additional time searching online, I was able to find another contact number and received a response. My biggest concern is that this critical check-in restriction was not clearly communicated during the booking process through the third-party site. Had I known that arriving after 7:00 PM could result in being unable to access the property, I would have either made arrangements in advance or booked elsewhere. What was most disappointing was that despite explaining the situation and providing evidence that the booking confirmation did not clearly communicate these restrictions, the property was unwilling to refund the first night that we were unable to use. Future travelers should also be aware that access is controlled through a single key. The key is required not only to access your room but also to enter the building itself. This is especially important on Sundays and Mondays when the downstairs gallery is closed. If one person leaves with the key, the other guest can be locked out of both the building and the room. For two travelers with different schedules, this can be very inconvenient. The apartment may be a good option for travelers arriving during business hours and planning to stay together at all times, but anyone arriving in the evening should confirm access arrangements well in advance. I learned that lesson the hard and expensive way."
