Alpine Inn & Suites

Check in at the Alpine Inn was very easy and everyone working there was so pleasant. We stayed in a Kitchen suite with two queen beds ( one bed is in a separate bedroom for privacy) The beds are fantastic and very comfortable, pillows are good too. The air conditioning works very well but be aware that the separate bedroom has no A/C. We brought a small cooling table fan and that was helpful. I am not sure if the motel can offer you a fan, it is worth asking as Nelson can get very warm in summer. The small kitchen was perfect, everything we needed was there. You can easily make your own simple meals and stay in. Internet worked great, which was a relief, because it can be spotty in Nelson (from my experience) The shower had very good water pressure and with three adults, we never ran out of hot water! If you need to do laundry (takes coins which you can get at the front desk) need an ironing board, ice cubes or vended snacks, there is a room that has all of this. There is also a computer and wi -fi in the same room if anyone needs that. A lovely outdoor area with a few picnic tables and a BBQ overlooks the lake at the back of the property. This is a wonderful spot to sit and have your morning coffee or a few beers at night. Alpine Inn is very quiet after 10 pm, keep that in mind if visiting. For the quiet location. price and extreme cleanliness of everything, Alpine Inn is a great choice. The beautiful, fragrant flowers in the window boxes and buildings add to the European mountain charm of this motel. Highly recommended.

We stayed in one of their "Kitchen Suite 2" units and had a comfortable experience. The kitchen was one of the better stocked we’ve come across in our travels, with all the basics covered — pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery — and the mini fridge even had a freezer, which was great for refreezing our ice packs. The suite had air conditioning in the kitchen/sitting area, which helped take the edge off the summer heat, though it would have been even better to have a unit in the bedroom as well. The beds were decent and we slept fairly well. As a family of four, we found the seating a bit limited with only room for two at the table, but that’s a small thing. The motel offers a guest laundry and BBQ area with picnic tables — nice touches, though we didn’t end up using them. We appreciated the locally sourced coffee from Kootenay Coffee Co. in the room. Location-wise, it’s in a convenient spot right as you come into Nelson from the south or west. All in all, a good value for the price. We’d stay here again.

Great stay at this motel Check in was great and staff was friendly. Room was clean. Cute place. Close to town can easily walk. Highly recommend.

Our first night was in one of those rooms that has an optional doorway to the next suite which made noise transfer easy. Once management was aware of it they immediately offered us another room which was to our liking and we enjoyed the balance of our visit. Michael was a great host.
