Everything was good. We got upgraded to a suite. Kind hotel management.
However the location for local transport is not accessible, the metro station right outside the hotel was closed by Metro operators for a while

Love our stay! The hotel is clean and smells good! Although the location wasn’t far from the Napoli Train Station, but walking over there with our luggages was horrible because the road is all damaged. Thanks to Cristian, our mood lifted as he was funny and very informative when explaining us where to visit in Naples. Thank you Cristian for making our stay so much better!

This Holiday Inn is not up to the N. American standards that I’m used to. Room is very dated, especially the bathroom. Otherwise a decent hotel in the common areas.

The hotel is in a good location, about 20 minutes' walk from the train station, and the surrounding environment is relatively quiet. The staff is very nice and professional.
The room facilities are a bit old and smell damp, but it actually feels ok to live in. Although the facilities are old, the room is clean and no improper cleaning was found. The breakfast is good, with a wide variety of options and a satisfying dining environment.

I had a very disturbing experience at this hotel.
While I was still staying there and the "Do Not Disturb" sign was on the door, a hotel employee opened my door without my permission and walked in a stranger. I was in the room at the time and the lady just said "wrong way" and left. No knocks, no confirmation, no apology.
I immediately went to the front desk to report the situation, and I was even more disappointed that their initial response was evasive and defensive, and it was more like clarifying that "it's not my department's problem" than taking responsibility for the privacy and safety of the guests. At the time, I felt not understood, but questioned.
However, I will also point out that after I emphasized the seriousness of the incident, the attitude of another employee improved significantly. She expressed understanding and made a sincere apology, and the hotel provided a meal as compensation. Although I appreciate the gesture, when I asked for simple services at the bar (such as helping cut the pizza), the attitude of the bar staff seemed indifferent and reluctant, and even pointed out that "the meal is free", which gave people a sense of charity - which was really uncomfortable in the context of the time.
To be fair, I am sure the hotel has tried to improve it in the future and gave some compensation and apology. But this does not erase the seriousness of the whole incident - such privacy and security loopholes should not happen in a four-star hotel.
A sincere apology and compensation can soothe emotions, but it cannot make up for the initial lack of responsibility and respect. I will not choose to stay in this hotel again, and I hope that the management can take more effective measures to prevent similar incidents from happening to other guests again.
