This is my first ever negative review and I review every place I stay. I was double booked as someone just walked in and got my room, I was put in the basement with no windows (read long my review), offered no apology or discount, rude receptionist/manager, the pool looks dirty and is inside (not outside like the description says), no sound proofing and can hear my neighbours like they are next to me, it's inside a mall and difficult to find, terrible wifi and the list could go on! DO NOT BOOK HERE!! Especially as a solo female traveller. The partner hotel Cloud9 that has all the facilities is much nicer. I booked a nights accommodation at Diamond Plaza for a studio apartment with a kitchenette including kettle, oven and toaster. I was excited to cook after weeks of traveling. When I arrived they told me they are now fully booked as someone else walked in and took the last place. I was understanding of this as I was exhausted after a 5 day safari and just wanted a bed. When they showed me the alternative, I was walked down three sets of stairs to the basement and showed dark little room. There were no windows and no kitchenette. I went back up to pay and politely asked if there was anyway I could get the room slightly cheaper as the lack of window makes me feel claustrophobic and there are no kitchen appliances. The manager told me that she cannot change the prices at all and there are no other rooms available. I showed her pictures of the room I thought I was paying for (one picture of a bed with a window above it and a second with the kitchenette) she explained that those pictures are of the penthouse apartment and not the studio I had booked. I said I understand that sometimes the pictures are not the same but I had booked a place assuming it had a window and definitely saying in the description it has a kitchenette. I explained that I was hoping to get a couple dollars off as I know there is nowhere else I can be moved due to her double booking my room and this is not the same room as I thought I was getting. She told me that I can cancel and go elsewhere or pay. I asked to see if I can talk to someone else as she was getting angry and she said 'no, I am the manager'. I am very disappointed at the lack of respect I received and no apology at all for double booking me or putting me in the basement with no windows. I don't believe I was asking for too much because this is definitely not the room I thought I was getting. An apology at the minimum would have been lovely.
