Sugatani Onsen

The room hotel is clean and tidy and has good value for money, but the hotel is located in a remote location. The kaiseki cuisine for breakfast and dinner is very good, including Omi beef, which is very enjoyable. It is a good hotel choice.

The water in the indoor bath, which is boiled from a low-temperature hot spring, is reddish brown and looks like it contains a lot of iron, but it actually does contain iron, and the water itself does not smell like the iron in Arima, so it is easy to bathe in. The quality of the hot spring in the indoor bath is good, but the outdoor bath is just water, which is disappointing. The food was terrible, with one appetizer missing and a hair in it. The room was spacious, but too spacious to be practical.

There are many dogs loose in the entrance and in the hallway. As the reviews say, there is dog hair on the yukata, so if you are a clean freak or don't like dogs, you might want to think twice about staying here.

There are Japanese-style rooms and Western-style rooms with beds, and the entrance is wide, so it was very spacious and relaxing. I was grateful that there was a sofa in the Japanese-style room. I have bad legs. The staff were also polite and it was a very relaxing inn. There was an indoor bath and an open-air bath, so I was able to enjoy this as well. The semi-open-air bath in the room was not a hot spring, but a medicinal herb bath from Mt. Ibuki, and small bubbles came out from the bottom of the bath, which felt great. However, I was not satisfied with the dinner. I chose Omi beef sukiyaki for dinner, so I was really looking forward to it. However, when I saw the meat that came out, I was like, "Huh?", and when I ate it, I was like, "Huh?" The meat was not tasty at all. If they are going to advertise Omi beef, I would have liked to have delicious meat, even if it was an extra 5,000 or 8,000 yen. The breakfast the next day was very delicious, so this dinner was the only disappointment. Next time I visit, I will choose a regular kaiseki course instead of sukiyaki.

Stayed one night on the way back from the Sanin region to Tokyo. It wasn't that this was our destination, it was because everything was just right and met the conditions, such as the distance during the trip, the location such as the distance from the interchange, and the budget. However, looking at the time of stay, it seems that there are many old ones. Also, I felt that reviews from people who stayed with pets tended to be more severe than people who stayed alone. The building is still fairly new and looks nicer inside than outside. It looks like it was renovated about 10 years ago. The rooms are relatively large with high ceilings, not luxurious by any means, but in excellent condition. Customer service was neither possible nor impossible. Insects seemed to come in even through the screen door, so it was written in the guest room that the window should not be opened. There is no particular scenery outside, and you can only see the surrounding mountains. The hot spring is a cold mineral spring that is heated and fed. There are clear hot water and dark brown cloudy hot water, but it seems that the color changes depending on the water level at which the source is the same. When I visited, the indoor bath was transparent, and the open-air bath with a roof was dark brown, but there was almost no smell in either. You can tell it's a mineral spring by the way it warms up. Dinner and breakfast are served at the restaurant. It's not a particularly special dish, but it's not badly seasoned and tastes good. However, the restaurant was clearly understaffed, and orders for drinks tended to arrive late. Other than eating and taking a bath, there are no particular incidental facilities. It was an inn that I can recommend to people who don't mind relaxing in the hot water and doing nothing.

When I was looking for a dog dormitory in the vicinity of Mt. Hiei, I arrived at Sugaya Onsen. nothing around. Is it suitable for hot spring cure? The hot spring contained iron and seemed to be a hot spring (personal opinion). But the open-air bath is colorless and transparent, but... A room with a dog on the first floor. There are all kinds of dog goods, and if you have a leash in the inn, you can let it walk. The dog fee is 3000 yen, which is not cheap at all, so it is natural to say that this is natural. You can choose to eat in the banquet hall or in your room. I had the Omi beef sukiyaki course, and I was satisfied with the delicious meat and the amount (22,000 yen per person). Thank you for the meal. There was also a national travel support, but it was a pity that the coupon could not be used at this inn.
