North Shore Oceanfront Resort Hotel

The room was filthy—hair in the shower, dirty floors, and clearly not cleaned. The photos online are outdated, and the water park isn’t even on the property. I didn’t stay a single night, and they still refused a refund. Rude staff, no accountability. Total scam—do not book here.

Read the bad reviews! This hotel is extremely misleading and unsanitary. The photos online are outdated—probably from 25 years ago—and do not reflect the current condition of the property. The bathrooms were not cleaned between guests; there was black hair in the shower, a stained and unflushed toilet, and dirty, unmopped floors. It was clear the room had not been properly maintained or cleaned. I left immediately without staying a single night because the conditions were unacceptable. Despite this, the hotel refused to refund the unused nights, claiming they have a “no refund” policy. I was transferred from person to person on the phone, treated poorly, and even hung up on—despite being polite the entire time. This place is a scam. If you care about cleanliness or customer service, stay away. You’ll lose your money and your peace of mind. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

My family and I recently stayed at the North Shore Resort for vacation. We checked in on Saturday and I explained to the front desk representative Steve that the card on file that I paid 1 night stay with was hacked and I had a temporary card given to me by the bank. I asked if we could switch the cards and immediately his demeanor changed and he acted like we were a problem and says "thats a going to be a problem" and stated that they needed to refund the money and send us a refund check. Sending us the check was fine. As my husband proceeded with his card Steve with no eye contact says “we need the card so we can charge the entire stay". Steve then gives us wristbands for the waterpark and pools etc. and says if you lose these you are out of luck because you will not get anymore. When asking Steve questions he continued no eye contact and forgot to charge us an extra $45.00. They hounded us for the $45.00 that they forgot to charge because Steve was to busy belittling us at check in. We then spoke to the Guest Services Manager Claudine. Claudine was very helpful but stated we had to pay the $45.00 dollars or they would not give us our refund. Again we did not mind paying the $45.00 but the fact they hounded us and tried to hold the refund check hostage is crazy to us. On another note our phone did not work the whole stay, the room was fine but nothing like the picture online and bathroom was extremely small. Waterpark was fun but beware there were 6 kids going down slides at once and cracking you in the back. Balcony view and pool were great! Would love to visit Myrtle Beach again but would never stay at this hotel again!

We booked this hotel a month in advance and it’s not worth the price, the room was old and dated not like what was in the pictures, their website is deceiving we paid over a $1000 for three nights and we should have went somewhere else.The room smelled and wasn’t even clean. The water park was rusty and not worth it.

The room didn't look clean and fresh as the pictures depict online. The sheets were wrinkled and almost appeared as though someone had slept on it; and didn't have a fresh smell. The couch was horrible with stains and worn-out looking. It looked like a vacuum cleaner had never touched it. The glass to the balcony was dirty with smudges all over and the plastic furniture on the balcony was filthy as well. I would not recommend this hotel. It needs some serious TLC...not worth the money.

The rooms are old, the entire hotel was out of hot water by the end of the weekend, the fridge was broke, no water pressure, only one elevator was working and by the end of the weekend the other one broke and people had to get pried out by the fire department. No ice machines or vending you have to walk to other buildings.
