Great
GGuest UserThe room is clean and tidy, the service is thoughtful, and the overall standard is up to the standard of a high-end hotel. The surrounding area is a large lake area, the environment is beautiful and elegant, and it is suitable for summer vacation and leisure. It is recommended to stay here
MManyouziyourenYoho is less well-known among the three national parks of Banff, Jasper, and Yoho, but its Natural Bridge, Emerald Lake, and Takakkaw Falls are well worth seeing. Staying in Golden is a smart choice. First, the price is reasonable; second, it's convenient for dining and shopping; and third, you can catch up on any sights you missed on the first day on your return trip the next day.
B&Bs are much cheaper than those in Lake Louise and Banff.
The hotel is a bit historic, but clean and very quiet.
MMike PirieFound this Gem in a last-minute search for a place to stay in the mountains. We only stayed one night, unfortunately, but would definitely return if we find ourselves in the Rockies again. The room was clean and comfortable for 4 adults. Great views, Love the communal concept of the kitchen & fire pit. Great way to meet new people. Easy to find & not far from the amenities of the town of Golden.
Not sure if this furry friend is a full time resident or not but, sure was friendly!
GGuest UserSpacious room with three beds.
Breakfast satisfactory.
About 14km drive to Kicking Horse ski resort. We did enjoy the skiing and snowboarding here.
Car parked outside. Therefore have to spend 10 minutes to wipe off the snow on the car
GGingerNutzWhen I checked in a 'security' deposit was taken from my credit card without my knowledge or my approval. I only found out because my bank always sends me a SMS message when my card is used. It's a very long time since I stayed in a hotel which requires a deposit. I checked out last week and the deposit has now been returned.
We stayed in the block behind the main building. It was a motel style room with car parking outside. The room was clean and everything worked. The beds were comfortable and there wasn't much noise from the road.
Breakfast was basic, with little choice. It felt like everything was done to keep the cost down.
Hilltop Inn is a cheap hotel. You get what you pay for. I will probably dig a little deeper next time I stay in Salmon Arm and stay across the road at the Fairfield.
AAnonymous UserYou can see the snow-capped mountains at the entrance of the hotel. It was a pleasant surprise. Highway 1 from Golden to Yoho National Park and Lake Louise was closed due to road construction, so I stayed here for one night. I didn't have any expectations, but I was surprised to see the snow-capped mountains in front of the hotel. The room was also quite comfortable. There was even a refrigerator and a kitchenette. The breakfast was also good 👍🏻
DDHL321Although this is a hotel under the Travelodge brand, it turns out to be more like a basic motel. The actual condition is quite different from the photos shown.
First of all, the room facilities are outdated. The lighting is inconsistent, with both warm and cool tones due to mismatched light bulbs. The window-type air conditioner produces a lot of noise. The TV couldn’t receive any signal, and the cleanliness was below expectations. Only about a quarter of the showerhead was functioning properly, and the fridge did not have a freezer compartment. The breakfast is just better than nothing.
The only positive aspect was the friendly attitude of the front desk staff. Overall, considering the price, it was not worth the value.
GGuest UserThere was no elevator, but only 2 short sets of stairs. Was not a problem. Room was good, although don’t understand why there aren’t rooms available at solo travellers prices. No safe.Hot tub had sand in the bottom . No towels one time. Pool area clean though. Breakfast was good, ran out of a few items and had to ask for them. Good selection of tea, although no Red Rose. Coffee was awesome. Wondering if a smoking tower could be out by picnic tables. Such a nice spot to sit. Instead of smoking out front at the entrance.
GGuest UserI think that a hotel with good value for money is also the happiest one for children. The hotel has free parking, breakfast, the most important hot pool and swimming pool with large water slides. Children like it very much, but the room is quite good, but the room is quite good. Very clean, bathing hot water is very good. There is a Chinese restaurant around. The service staff is very patient and enthusiastic.
GGuest UserAs a relay station for self-driving Banff Park and Jasper, the hotel is convenient to travel and can be reached from the highway. The room facilities are basically complete. There are Japanese restaurants and supermarkets within five minutes away, making it convenient for meals. Compared with hotels in Calgary, the price is more expensive and the price/performance ratio is slightly worse.
