The hotel was dirty and run down. The TV in the reception for the rugby was a strange tinge of blue. The pizza served were probably the worst I have ever had. The floors and showers were so gross and run down that I showered in my slip slops. The only saving grace was the very polite and helpful reception staff. Very disappointing at R3000 per night.

I have never been so disappointed and embarassed showing a group of international travellers this hotel! The setting is glorious, and that is the only positive. The website is all a lie!! No welcome drinks, no porters, rooms are in shocking state of disrepair. No kettle, no hairdryer, no tv, no aircon. Beds are old and hard. Ranch slider off its tracks. No balcony chairs. Downstairs room stank. Staff have no enthusiasm or interest to help with any complaints. Service is zero. Then we went to dinner! Not a single bottle of white wine available. Food was terrible - chicken was raw (not undercooked ... raw!!). We decided that breakfast was not worth risking. There is absolutely no way it is 4 stars! South Africa prides itself on hospitality and service - this hotel needs to be reassessed.

The hotel has sadly fallen into decay, previous stays were terrific, the rooms were grubby and air cons don’t work ( they moved us) don’t take a room close to reception the sfaff banging doors open and closed make sleeping a real challenge, the place is dirty and the staff while friendly could not manage a boiled egg, the hotel restaurant while having a fantastic view is dirty and suffers from a low budget ‘feel’ it’s sad after staying there a number of times over the years, possibly the new owners or management have a different standard, for us it substandard and not what it was. Pricing @R2000 per night is not in line with its accommodation, our next stay we will be giving the Point no point,

I checked out within half an hour after booking in at The Point Hotel & Spa Mosselbay. I didn't even bother asking a refund of my payment. People should be cautioned about The Point Hotel & Spa Mosselbay. A reassessment needs to be done on the 4 Star Rating of this hotel. Amongst others, the furniture is dated and damaged, the aircons are severely rusted. The bathrooms are dirty, there is no furniture on the balcony. In my opinion this hotel seriously needs renovation, proper maintenance and deep cleaning.
