We come to the Captains Inn every July for the antique street fair. We have stayed in the historical house, dock holiday and the boat house. Have loved all of them. If you get a chance to stay here you should. The innkeeper is very sweet and always helpful. Looking forward to next year already

Check in was easy with the code they send. The bed was extremely firm aka hard. The shower drained so slowly that you ended up standing in water to your ankles for a very quick shower. They list quiet hours and warn that it is an old house and be wary of your noise level....however, the person in the room across from us was having coughing fits all evening until they finally fell asleep after midnight. We heard EVERY.SINGLE.COUGHING.FIT. the entire time. Be warned. If someone is rude and causing extreme noise you will not get any sleep!

We had such a lovely time here! The property is so relaxing and thoughtfully curated. Our innkeeper made us feel right at home and went out of her way to make us comfortable on short notice. We watched the sunset from 2 different porches, and I had a very relaxing soak in the claw footed tub. We will definitely return!

We stayed at the Sanctuary for a couple of nights. Wonderful property and wonderful room. The fireplace made it nice and cozy. Will definitely return.

This property was definitely unique. However, the bed was extremely uncomfortable (way too firm) and very high off the ground since we slept on a mattress on an actual boat. There were stepstools to get onto the bed on either side. And the bedside tables were normal size so you had to reach down almost 2 feet to put your belongings on the tables. Also, the water pressure was poor and the water heater must be for the entire unit because there was hardly tepid water when I went to shower in the evening.
It’s a beautiful property and I love the wildlife and the surrounding area but otherwise I wouldn’t stay there again.
Also, you should know that it says that there’s a refrigerator in a microwave in the listing however it is in a common area and you have to put your name on your food in the refrigerator, so that was inconvenient. If you wanted a late night snack, you had to go out of your room, walk across a small parking lot, unlock the main building doors and go into a common area to use these amenities.

Absolutely wonderful stay at the Captain’s Inn. We’re repeat guests (many times), but this time bringing friends who’d never been to the stea. We hiked, kayaked with sea otters, went out birdwatching, walked along the beach right at Moss Landing, and found delicious food at the local waterside cafe, as well as Passionfish in Pacific Grove - plus other terrific sustainable eateries. We always love your lodging. We do hope Haute Enchilada reopens...that was a such a remarkable restaurant. Thank you for the memorable nights and days.
