Moose Lake Lodge & Suites

First thing I noticed when I entered the hotel was the sign that stated that the pool / sauna area was closed. I was disappointed. I later found out that it has been closed for a long time. The second thing I was disappointed by that there was no elevator. Not a big deal just that I was unable to carry my suitcase up to the second floor. The staff person at the desk offered to carry it for me. Which was nice. I opened the door to my room and noticed 2 things, the room had a smell like spilled milk or something and it was super humid. The air conditioner was running and temp was chilly but still humid. I investigated the AC and pulled out the screens and both were thick with dust. I rinsed them off in the bathtub. In addition to the dust in the screens I could hear water in the air conditioner whenever it kicked in. That told me that the unit was not draining properly. It had been very hot for Minnesota at the time. I did not ask to change rooms being I had settled in already and didn't want to go through the hassle. I informed the desk person of these things upon departure. One thing I was confused about whs that I paid Trip.com $415 for the room when I booked it and the hotel gave me a reciept for $284.77 when I checked in. ?????? The positives: the bed was comfortable and the free breakfast had a nice variety.

The room was great, the lady who checked me in was excellent! The only downfall was no microwave or mini fridge.. the pool is still closed so that was disappointing.. other then that, it was s comfortable place to be!!

The property is fine for the price and overall, I was pretty comfortable. Things are certainly outdated and could use some love but it was overall clean and a pleasant stay. Check in was strange and the woman helping us was a bit rude and gaslighting everyone that checked in because of their booking system. For example, I changed my booking through ******* a few days before and because ******* didn't communicate that with them, she said made me feel like I was in the wrong. Further, my family member booked online, too, and whoever they booked through, messed up their reservation as well. She also made them feel like it was their fault (and mentioned how much money they actually get from that booking.) I told her it would probably clear a lot of this up if they just had their own website.

When we arrived my ******* account was under my exs last name and after explaing that to him he said I hope you arent lying to me.It was rude. We got to our room and he said the key card may not work. During our visit we had to have someone let us in our room everytime. Then the flapper on the toilet didnt work so we left the lid off so we could shut it off each time we used it. It was so close to our destination, but, I would drive the extra 20 miles to stay somewhere else.

Rooms looked nice. Although garbages weren't emptied and restroom vent needs dusting. Breakfast was well prepared.

130 for the night for the jacuzzi room. Says there is a pool and hottub- but they are not open for use and after reading reviews on google hasnt been for years! There was no sofa bed like advertised. The shower head was not the rain shower head as advertised in listing. Just a regular crusty shower head. Jacuzzi was great the first time. Then there was no hot water in the whole building and they need to "relight the pilot".. water got warm at best. Next morning tried to have another soak- warm water not hot. Breakfast was minimal- hot eggs and sausage but was not yummy. Wont be staying again. Staff was friendly though. Not worth 130 bucks. Maybe 60.
