Newport Mooloolaba Apartments

Room M1 at Newport Mooloolaba should never be sold to guests. It is right beside reception and the lifts, so every conversation outside sounds like it is in your room. The only window faces the pool and a busy walkway, giving zero privacy unless you keep the blinds shut the whole time. It is honestly like trying to sleep on a couch in the foyer. My partner and I are in no way precious about accommodation, but this was something else. It was so bad we left immediately and checked into another hotel without spending the night. If I could give zero stars, I would. Management should be ashamed to offer this room, and future guests should refuse it outright.

Teribble experience ! We were given a motel room in lobby for one night stay while rooms were available in upper floors ! One of the Bed sheet was stained. Bathroom smelled bleach. Room so noisy that we couldn't sleep at night, people coming back to hotel in the middle of night making a lot of noise. Unit facing east and curtains not blocking the sunlight, so you have you wake up with sun rise. This room technically should had been built for a storage and room cleaning stuffs and service but later they decided to make some money with it. In the current digital world, all doors including parking gate , opened with a key ! Same with elevators and main entrance, room door and balcony ! 3 keys hanging from a useless card jingling in your pocket when you go out for a walk ! Never come back here again !

Newport is in a great location – close to the beach, the Wharf and the Esplanade. We stayed in a ground floor motel room in January 2025 for one night. It suited our purposes enough that we booked for another night in May 2025. Both times we had the closest room to reception, opposite the lifts, next to the pool. It was clean, comfortable and very spacious. Parking was easy and close to the rear entrance. Several reviews refer to how noisy these rooms are. This one was noisy, but that didn't bother us as we spend little time in the room and each time was an overnight stay on the way elsewhere. If you want a quiet, relaxing stay and spend time in the room - avoid this one. During our stay in May we checked in and went out. We came back to get ready for dinner and found the 90cm bathroom mirror had fallen off the wall and shattered on the floor. Reception was closed. When we called the after hours number we were very surprised to be told that no staff were available and were asked to clean it up ourselves. This was extraordinarily poor service, and not in accordance with our other interactions with reception staff. After some to-ing and fro-ing we were told someone was now onsite and would clean up the glass. This bloke was friendly and helpful and got it done efficiently. We are very unlikely to stay here again based purely on the attitude of the person that answered the after hours call.

Needed full length mirror. Bathroom mirror was too high to use. Strange having toilet with no door, right opposite fridge.

The property was in a great location, walkable to shops and restaurants, quiet and spacious.

I was gobsmacked as someone who was a regular guest here for the last 8yrs & never had any issues was told by Manager Ben Sullivan that they didnt want to provide me any prices or quote "reply to my queries" any longer because I have asked for too many since he too over lol, we all had a good laugh, we have never heard anything so ridiculous, as if anyone is going to stay without finding out the cost 1st as every year it increases, Apparently its too hard to do his job & provide customer service to a return guest who simply wanted prices on different months & days of the year due to holidaying more then once a year at Mooloolaba. The rooms & thousands we would normally spend here a year will be going to another resort from now on. Good job mate you lost thousands to this resort & regular guest. I have the rude email sent that was uncalled for simply because I wanted a few quotes. Dont waste your time or money here as you will be accused of harassment if you as them to do their job more than once as it hasn't been a problem for years.
