DoubleTree by Hilton Montgomery Downtown

I travel regularly, and I can say without a doubt that this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed. It was desperately in need of an upgrade, trash overflowing, and the rooms were dirty. If that wasn't enough, I was awakened by the fire alarm at 5:40 am. Do not stay here. It really is a dump masquerading as a hotel.

This hotel used to be a nice place to stay. My trip on this weekend was terrible. Untrained employees run the hotel. The manager is only on-site during the morning hours. Day 1, I had no towels, shower gel, or remote control for my TV. On day 2, there was no room service, and no shower gel, and I had no choice except to go to the desk to get my towels. Additionally, the bartender (10/11) was very rude bc I asked her to stop making noise at 11:45 pm. Parking is minimal. You will do well to stay at another location somewhere in this town. I have one more night here. Hope it is better. Rooms are decent, but hotel is unkept.

By far, the worst hotel facility I have ever experienced.!! The furniture was old, worn and very dirty, especially in the Lobby. They, essential, did not offer daily room cleaning. Insects (knats) were present in my room. The hallways had a foul odor. There were spots on ceiling that looked as there were leaks at some point. Room furnishings looked like they got it from an auction. It was ragged and pieces did not match. Parking was $27/day for outside self parking. This property is not a good representation of the Hilton brand!

Our room was musty smelling, the carpet was wet, there was a chicken bone in the floor. Very dirty and in disrepair. The parking lot is grossly undersized for the size of the hotel. There is an underground parking lot that looked straight out of a horror film.

I have stayed here before and had a good experience so when I was planning a meeting for my team in Montgomery, I chose this hotel due to its location in downtown. Although the hotel is a little dated, last year the rooms were clean and the service was good. This year I arrived late, 11:30pm, and had to park in the lower deck which is VERY SCARY. It’s dirty and dark. The dumpster is by the exit with trash everywhere and a huge chain link gate that is just laying on the ground. I go to my room and as I’m pulling back the covers, I see lots of white powered all over the platform that the mattress is on. Very unnerving. I did check the mattress and sheets and did not see any signs of current concern but did see old stains on the mattress. My stay was 2 nights. On night 2, I stopped at the bar. The bar was out of tequila and vodka. Although they said the bar was open until 10, last call was at 9:15. The following morning I get up to make a coffee in the keurig and the person that cleaned the room only gave me one pod but no cups. Then I go to the shower only to find that my dirty towels were taken the day before but not replaced with any clean towels. So I had to dry off with 2 hand towels. The room was only equipped with 1 trash can which was in the kitchenette area. There were no other trash receptacles. Not even in the bathroom. I will not be back.

Am a Diamond Member, front desk said breakfast was included, it was not. Could only get a 20% off of breakfast. Said it had valet parking but it does not offer that anymore. Breakfast was 20 minutes late opening. Room smelled stale and old wall air conditioning unit was only one foot away from bed thus thru blew cool air directly on me when I slept. The only positive thing to say is Shaymon in the breakfast area was incredibly nice. There are too many competiting hotels in this area to have this kind of 3-star hotel; needs an upgrade fast.

Overall, the experience was okay. The service was good and the hotel was clean. The shower was terrible though. You couldn’t adjust temperature to warm, there was only freezing cold and scalding hot. The water shot out like a rocket, making it feel like needles getting shot in your back the whole time. We would’ve left for another hotel if our stay was any longer than a night.

As a Hilton member, I have an expectation that the properties are going to be clean. This DoubleTree Hotel was not clean. The bathroom was filthy, the floors, tub and toilet were not cleaned recently. The sheets and duvet had hair on them along with stains , and blood stain on mattress pad. I had to go buy cleaning supplies just to even feel like we could use anything in the room. I would not recommend this property.
