Accommodations are lovely, grounds are beautiful, pool was great, ocean is right out the door… I could go on and on! We also love the cuisine!!!"

"This place was such a pleasant surprise. We travelled all over Costa Rica, and while this certainly isn’t the most luxurious place you’ll stay in, it definitely has wonderful service and an overall great vibe. The owner is amazing, and was super helpful for us in getting back into town with our luggage to catch the ferry back. Speaking of which - if you’re walking from the town up the hill it’s a very steep walk, so be prepared! Excellent proximity to the waterfall with your own special entrance, your own private hanging bridge, and a fantastic brewery right next to the property to walk to. Overall, we’d happily stay here again!"

"We came to hotel NYA for our honeymoon and were very impressed by the service! By far the best hotel stay we’ve had so far, the rooms were very clean, breakfast was delicious, and staff were very kind and helpful. Every day the staff delivered a little dessert to our room free of charge, and surprised us with a honeymoon gift of a bottle of champagne and a charcuterie board with warm fresh made bread and a handmade card. We highly recommend NYA for anyone staying in Montezuma!"

"Yesterday, service was good, today I woke up early no check on my email and the only place there is an electric outlet tbere were an employee slepping, when I asked the clerk were I can see, he said to me that I have to wait for the employee to wake up. When I was having breakfast I order an extra of butter and jam for my toast, which by tbe way is not included and they took more that 30 min to bring it, I've already finish eating"

"As the title says, Ylang Ylang created the wedding of our dreams. From the earliest stages of planning through our final day at the resort, Moraya, Emma, and the entire team treated our celebration with genuine care, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail. Our welcome cocktail party, beachfront ceremony, reception dinner, and dance party were all absolutely perfect. Each event felt effortless, intimate, and uniquely ours. The setting was breathtaking, the food and cocktails were exceptional, and every detail came together better than we could have imagined. As a bonus, they worked with us to create custom signature cocktails inspired by our pets. As a same-sex couple, it was especially meaningful to feel completely comfortable, genuinely celebrated, and cared for throughout the entire experience. We never felt merely accommodated. The entire team embraced our wedding wholeheartedly and made us feel that our love and celebration were just as important to them as they were to us. Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming, but we could feel that our celebration was in capable and caring hands. Emma and Moraya handled every request with patience and flexibility, allowing us to be fully present with one another and the people we love. We never felt like just another wedding on the schedule. They made the entire week feel deeply personal, and we felt heard every step of the way. The food throughout our stay was absolutely delicious and exceeded every expectation. Every meal felt fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor. They even prepared fresh tuna that some of our guests caught on a fishing expedition earlier that day and added it to the menu for dinner after our welcome cocktail party. Our family and friends are still talking about the food, the incredible service, most notably from Francesco and Patricia, and the warmth and attentiveness of the entire team. We stayed in the Treetop Canopy, which gave us the perfect balance of privacy while still allowing us to feel closely connected to our guests. The capuchin monkeys quite literally come and hang out with you on the porch. I will never forget sitting beside one on the outdoor sofa as it slept peacefully on the railing only feet away from me. Ylang Ylang gave us far more than a beautiful wedding venue. They created the setting for some of the happiest and most meaningful moments of our lives. We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding week, and this incredible resort will always hold a very special place in our hearts. We will absolutely return, and we will enthusiastically recommend Ylang Ylang to every couple looking for an unforgettable destination wedding in Costa Rica. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. The road in was sketchy, the pool was more the size of a small spa, and the beds were so stiff we couldn’t stay the night. We were promised a 70% refund and are still waiting. While some guests said they loved it, for us it felt more like a hostel than a sanctuary."

"The good: the hotel is located a short walk from the beach, right in the middle of the tiny town of Montezuma. Through their sister hotel Ylang Ylang, I booked a fantastic birding tour with eagle-eyed Eduardo. It was inexpensive and included breakfast and air conditioning. The not so good: the mattress was quite hard. I thought there might not be hot water, but it was just very slow. The layout is that there's a hallway with side by side rooms. The room had a window that looked out onto the hallway, but no exterior light. There were also noisy neighbors and there was no sound dampening. You have to ask for the wifi password. I tried to walk down the beach to Ylang Ylang for the pool, and maybe it was just me, but it was much more than a 10 minute walk! There is a shady dirt road, but nobody seemed to know how I could get to it. "

"Now let me start by saying this hotel isn't perfect, it has a very steep drive, the room was fairly basic and the air con could do with a bit of work - however, the pricing certainly matched and this place had some great features too. Staff - the owner (I believe) who also worked on reception was a very friendly guy and was very helpful if you had any questions or needed anything. They provided biscuits, bananas and water in reception even though it was not a bed a breakfast. There's no safety deposit boxes in the room but they will keep any valuables locked away in reception and they seemed very honest and obliging if you needed to get anything from it or add to it. Rooms - Although the room was basic, it's pleasant enough, clean and has all you need. It had a nice area outside with wooden sun beds and a hammock for lazing around on. Very nice to chill out early evening before heading the very short walk to the shops for food/drinks etc Pools - 2 pools close together (one's just a higher level) a few steps up. Nice seat area in one and a slight jacuzzi, not very strong but again pleasant enough. The grounds are beautifully kept and are a major plus to the hotel. Location - Excellent location as right next to the shops/bars and restaurants but I'm guessing because our room was up a steep driveway, noise didn't really seem an issue. A nice stay all in all and a location (Montezuma) and a hotel we'd consider staying in again should we return."
