Hotel Nya
"We came to hotel NYA for our honeymoon and were very impressed by the service! By far the best hotel stay we’ve had so far, the rooms were very clean, breakfast was delicious, and staff were very kind and helpful. Every day the staff delivered a little dessert to our room free of charge, and surprised us with a honeymoon gift of a bottle of champagne and a charcuterie board with warm fresh made bread and a handmade card. We highly recommend NYA for anyone staying in Montezuma!"
Sunshine Sanctuary Boutique Jungle Lodge
"Interesting place to stay with one access via a footbridge! Large clean room with balcony (beware of monkeys if you leave anything outside!). View of valley & ocean. Sml pool to cool off in. Good breakfast served on the roof top terrace overlooking the valley & ocean & plenty of wildlife to see at the same time. Very helpful owner. Parking available. Bonus: Short walk to the top of the waterfall for a swim & great brewery by the entrance for food & drinks. Only downside its partway up a very steep hill if visiting the town."
Ylang Ylang Beach Resort
"It was so beautiful at Ylang Ylang. The staff is lovely and the food particularly dinner was great! We ate all the vegan options and everything was fresh and delicious. Kids loved the swimming and access to the river! Montezuma is a cute beach town"
Hotel Aurora
"I am really glad we had such a friendly lady at the check in. After we realized we booked something that doesnt meet our current needs, she contacted the owner and we could cancel our stay even tough there was a non refund policy for our booking. There was nothing wrong with the place, everything was clean etc. But we realized we need more space and a place that is more secluded. Thanks a lot for the goodwill, it makes a big difference in our travelexperience🫶"

El Sano Banano Beachside Hotel
"We spent 3 nights, Saturday-Tuesday at El Sano Banano in downtown Montezuma. The hotel was conveniently located steps to the beach and on the downtown strip, next to a market and many restaurants. We saw a few different lizards in the outdoor dining area. The in-house restaurant and bar served Tipico style Costa Rican cuisine. The included breakfast was a sit down service with tipico rice and beans, eggs, pancakes, toast, coffee. There was no availability of self serve coffee. We stayed in a room with a window overlooking the street vendors and park. There was one full size bed and one twin on the opposite side. The mattresses, linens and pillows were tolerable. There was an AC wall unit but no window or ventilation, or balcony. Our wet clothes never dried completely. There was a private bathroom with shower with hot water, toilet. The decor of the space was beachy, colorful and quirky, I liked it. Due to the proximity to the downtown area and thin walls we could hear the music and bass from the discotheque all of Saturday night. If you’re planning on staying throughout a weekend, I’d highly recommend bringing earplugs/noise cancellers. Overall it was a pretty good stay but we’d probably consider staying somewhere off of the main street when we visit Montezuma next time. Recommendations for the hotel: -self serve coffee station -more comfortable bedding/pillows -warning about street noise, sale/availability of earplugs -more friendly staff"
The Chorotega Hotel, Montezuma
"A beautiful hotel in the heart of Montezuma ♥️ It has a beautiful view to the ocean and is in the middle of stunning nature. The staff is very kind and helpful. There is a little kitchen which was very nice and a television! We couldn’t ask for more!"
