Riu Montego Bay - Adults Only - All Inclusive

We stayed at RIU Montego Bay during Hurricane Melissa—a time when the resort’s usual rhythm of entertainment and leisure was replaced by a calm, focused commitment to safety and care. While we didn’t get to experience the hotel in its full glory, what we did witness was a team of professionals rising to the occasion with grace and strength. From the moment the storm approached, the staff shifted gears seamlessly. Their priority was clear: keeping guests safe, informed, and reassured. Entertainment took a back seat, and rightly so. Instead, we saw security protocols handled with quiet efficiency and genuine concern. It was clear that the team was working under immense pressure, yet they remained composed, kind, and attentive. Though our time in the restaurant was limited, each meal felt like a small act of hospitality. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and served with care. The waiting staff were nothing short of remarkable, offering warmth and professionalism despite the challenging circumstances. Their smiles and gentle humor were a balm in the midst of uncertainty. It’s bittersweet to reflect on what might have been. The glimpses we caught—of the beautiful grounds, the welcoming atmosphere, and the thoughtful touches—suggest that RIU Montego Bay is a place where joy and relaxation flourish in normal times. We didn’t get the full experience, but we did get something rare and meaningful: a stay defined by humanity, resilience, and quiet excellence. We hope to return one day under sunnier skies. Until then, we carry deep gratitude for the team who made us feel safe, cared for, and seen.

Me and my fiancé took a trip to this hotel in September for 1 week and I have to say it was brilliant from the time we stepped foot into the hotel to the time we left couldn’t fault the place live music , themed nights , music by the pool amazing food served all day staff was polite always ready to help if needed and was just nice to talk to the local people that worked there we sat down by the beach bar located near the end of the beach I cannot remember the lady’s name that works there but it’s a service with a smile and if she ever sees this review she will remember my partner with the joker tattoo on his back we hopefully will be coming back next year and hope to see her as she made our holiday

Resort is great, the best part of the whole reort is the fact it has 5 pools, you choose your vibe for the day from relaxing to partying. Food is good. Please tip the staff if you go as i noticed 99% of the people dont tip and that is just flat out wrong. The people are so wonderful and so warm and they work so hard. Please take care of them. The ONLY thing that i wish were different would be the mattresses. They are so firm, there is no give in them whatsoever. But the place is great. The landscaping is beautiful, very clean and front desk is there if you need them. So much to do, so many great people to meet and memories to make. So good in fact im already booked for february again. This is an honest review as i hope it helps.

My recent stay at the Riu Hotels & Resorts in Montego Bay unfortunately the experience fell far below my expectations and presented several serious issues. Upon checking into our room, I quickly noticed the floor was dirty. This was addressed with house keeping and she did come take care of this issue .This alone was concerning, but the situation worsened when I discovered mold in the shower. I reported the mold to the front desk and was assured that it would be addressed. I was told that if the mold could not be properly cleaned, we would be moved to another room and the general manager would contact us. Neither of these actions occurred. The mold remained, and we were never contacted by management. Upon checking out, I again voiced my concerns and was transferred to someone who claimed to be a manager. However, there was still no resolution offered. Additionally, I was informed by Jessica at checkout that we owed $0.80. I paid the amount but was not given the $0.20 in change, which although minor, added to an overall sense of poor service and lack of professionalism.

(Please do intense research, they're good at getting bad reviews gone) Stayed in room 4043 Sept. 24th - 29th and both my friend and I who shared the room, who flew there from two different cities, on two separate airlines were bit by bed bugs. During our time there we had brushed them off for being mosquito bites but the bites continued after we arrived back to our respective homes. Again, in two separate cities. I reached out to complaints@riu.com who ensured me the room had been investigated after my complaint and none were found. This was laughable as a google search would even tell you that bed bugs are extremely hard to find until there's a mass infestation. Nonetheless, RIU did nothing to resolve my complaint so this message isn't for them but if you as potential guest are looking into staying, I want you to be aware and protect yourself because it's not fun paying hundreds of dollars to bring home bed bugs!

On 2nd October, for the duration of 14 nights, I stayed at the RIU Montego Bay (for the second time, 1st time since it was changed to adults only) and I had a fabulous stay from start to finish. There was always something going on, games to play, foam and beach parties to join in with, activities, twerk offs and reggae always playing in the background. I didn't take out my headphones the whole entire trip. The pools were always well looked after and clean (even when busy), lifeguards were in the pool every morning/night with masks and snorkels ensuring its clean from top to bottom. Sun loungers were bleached and cleaning a few mornings a week where we occasionally had to sit elsewhere whilst it was washed off (but staff always made sure to make you aware, so it didn't get on your clothes). The roots swim-up bar is incredibly busy and is definitely the pool where it's all going on. A lot of the time huge crowds would linger at the bar, but after a simple excuse me, a space became free. All the staff at RIU Mo Bay were welcoming, attentive, high energy and beyond friendly throughout the whole stay. They were kind, full of banter and I have nothing negative to say. Everyone was always happy to help, great at their jobs and had fabulous service from the moment they started their shift to the end. Always greeting us in the morning and throughout the day. Our room was always well cleaned, smelt nice, blanket designs on the bed and the mini bar replenished (although we didn't really use this much). Towels were replenished when needed, beds made, floors mopped and showered cleaned. Tanesha looked after us every morning at breakfast and was such a beautiful person, always down for a chat whilst she was working, and knew our coffee order before we had even sat down. Gaverick and Nakeesha were the absolute best behind the bar and always made sure I was catered for when ordering. Service was quick and really got to know me as a person. Gaverick even made me a unique drink when I couldn't pick from the menu and always did it will a smile on his face. An absolute sweetheart. Nakeesha even made sure I was hydrated whilst sunbathing by giving me some water on a regular basis. Such a beautiful character who was so caring, Endless laughs from the morning till night and always had a wonderful vibe about them. The entertainment team, were quite frankly the best group energy (coming from a performer) I have ever encountered. Their energy is unmatched and their pace didn't diminish every single day and they made sure they greeted everyone, everyday. The 10am morning walkabout the resort shouting 'GOOD MORNING, BUENOS DIAS, GUTEN MORGEN' had me in stitches and made sure everyone was included in their rounds. If you were asleep, you wasn't by the time they came around! Charollette was a highlight of my holiday.
