The MC Hotel, Autograph Collection

Well located hotel on Montclair’s main drag, with countless mid to high-end restaurants nearby, representing numerous cuisines. All the staff I encountered were sincerely warm and friendly, not just putting on an act or going through the motions. Room was comfortable and a good size and provided a sound nights sleep. While I typically stay in other areas when visiting our office 15mins from here, I’d much rather stay in a neighborhood property like this rather than a freestanding hotel in a campus-like setting. Will definitely return.

This was my sixth time staying here . I stay at this hotel every time I visit NJ as it’s close to where my brother lives. I really enjoy this hotel, The room was great and very clean. The service at the front desk is very friendly. Did not eat in the restaurant so can’t comment on that. Look forward to staying here in the future.

We paid for 3 rooms for one night at the hotel in order to attend a nearby wedding. All we needed afterwards was a good night's sleep before we headed on our 7 hr drive home. The hotel had a private party on the top floor which played loud throbbing music until 1 am. We couldn't believe the hotel allowed this. And then on awakening early in the morning to depart, there was no coffee - one room didn't have the coffee (which we had requested the night before) and another room had a broken machine. They couldn't even comp us each a cup of coffee because a different vendor runs the counter service. We didn't pay over $900 for this hassle!

It's always a pleasant surprise when a business hotel exceeds expectations. The personal touch from Ms. Ioana Spiridonov, the spacious room, and the great meals made my stay quite memorable. The ample bathroom space and classy decor are definitely a nice change from the typically smaller New York hotel rooms.

Great Stay! So, the hotel is centrally located in the heart of Montclair. Whatever cuisine you could ponder is less than a 20 min ride from the hotel. Staff was amazing. Housekeeping was at our room no later than 12pm each day of our stay. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

This is my second stay at the MC Montclair. The front desk staff are wonderful, but the rest stops there. Food service consistently disappoints. There was a buffet of stale eggs and scraped out french toast casserole on Thanksgiving morning. Service is always hard to come by in the restaurant. There were no serving utensils for the fruit and the hand sanitizer was empty. My Bonvoy Platinum breakfast voucher didn't even cover it. The rooms are nice enough, but kind of rough around the edges. The wall mounted lamp in our room didn't work and was partially falling off the wall. There was a sticky substance on the desk. The closet floor was incredibly dusty, so much that a sweater fell and was completely covered in dust. The gym was adequate/small. There were no towels and the equipment wipes had run out. There is a Peloton but the water bottle holders had broken off. When stretching, I noticed that under the equipment was all covered in dust - like an obscene amount of dust. Rooms didn't have cork screws, and the front desk didn't have any. I had to borrow one from a waiter and promptly bring it back downstairs. This all adds up to a very meh stay that I didn't feel was a very good value for what you get.
