Great hotel for an affordable price. The location is fantastic right off the interstate. Rooms are very clean and common areas are well-kept. Breakfast was excellent. The facility is older, but very well-maintained. Internet was exceptionally fast as well. I was getting 120 download speeds and 30 upload via Wi-Fi in my room; plenty for my business computer needs.

Gracious host. Basics generally OK. Facility somewhat aged. Blankets a bit thin. Pillows uncomfortable. Breakfast adequate. Met our expectations.

The floor had what looks like someone spit chewing tobacco on the floor. The floor had cracked linoleum in the bathroom. The beds were clean at least.

This stay was like a trip back in time, with actual keys instead of cards for your room entry and simple, comfortable furnishings. If you are looking for a stay in a modern hotel with multiple amenities, keep searching. However, if you just need a dry, warm, clean place to lay your head, this checks all the boxes.

We had a wonderful stay at the Thunderbird Lodge in Mitchell! The price was excellent, and the staff at both check-in and check-out were very friendly and professional, making us feel welcome right away. The lodge has a bit of old charm, and we loved the fact that they still use real keys for the rooms—it gave it a nostalgic touch you don’t often find anymore. Our room was comfortable, and everything was just what we needed for a pleasant stopover. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone passing through Mitchell.
