The Plume of Feathers

This was without doubt one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We waited an hour to be seated, only to be moved from our table which then sat empty for another hour. Despite our repeated attempts to get service, we were ignored completely while staff walked past us again and again. It genuinely felt deliberate. When we finally explained to the front-of-house team that we were leaving because no one would serve us, we were laughed at. The response was dismissive, arrogant, and downright rude as if they wanted us to leave. That level of unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable. Restaurants can get busy, but this was not the case many tables were empty and yet we were treated as though our presence was an inconvenience. The way we were ignored, then mocked when we raised our concerns, was insulting and humiliating. This experience left us angry and appalled, and it’s hard to believe that any business would treat paying customers this way.

We loved the plume of feathers. The rooms were gorgeous, as were the views. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. The breakfast options were really varied, which is rare.

We have often eaten here before and had lovely food but on this occasion none of us enjoyed our meal. Two of us had a vegan option which was extremely spicy and served on board which is surely rather old fashioned nowadays. The other couple had different meals which they didn’t enjoy. We were seated in a small rather cramped room. However, the waitress service was truly excellent.
