For a cheap night it was exactly what I was expecting, clean and tidy room and shared areas. Parking was chargeable which I wasn’t too happy about as it was booked solely based on the parking being free, but the really nice steak in the hotel restaurant made up for it.

Parking costs £10 per stay. No mention of that on booking site. Decent hotel for an emergency stop over in Birmingham but the mattress does need replacing.

Great hotel with clean rooms, friendly staff, and a pleasant atmosphere. However, I was unexpectedly charged £20 for parking despite my booking stating it was free. Reached out for a refund but received no response. A great stay overall.

Friendly welcome & prompt service, albeit it was not at all busy on a Wednesday afternoon. Varied selection of homemade choices and 2-4-1 made it good value for money. Everyone in the party of 6 enjoyed their meal which was well presented & plenty of it! Service was attentive, polite & professional. Warm cosy atmosphere despite being quiet, and tastefully decorated.Will definitely return.

Stayed in hotel as attending a wedding reception there. Check in was easy. Rooms let the hotel down, very dated although large and ours had a lovely view over the canal. The bed was hard, linen clean, fluffy soft towels. Bathroom - shower was hot but room was full of cobwebs and no extractor so rust and mould in there. There was a constant smell of sewerage in the toilet. Kettle and coffee/tea in room. The breakfast was average. The bar/restaurant was ok but again cobwebs everywhere. Overall this could be an amazing place if some money was spent on the rooms and general cleanliness. Staff friendly and helpful.
