Quality Inn Mineral Point

The location is convenient, close to downtown, restaurants, and the highway. Guests appreciate the spacious, clean, comfortable rooms with plush bedding and a comfortable shower height for taller individuals.

Decent for a Weekend Overall, this was a decent place to stay for a weekend trip. The beds were comfortable, room and bathroom were clean, no weird smells, and the environmental controls worked fine. The pool and hot tub areas were clean and well maintained. We had an issue with the door “keys” not opening the side or room doors and had to get them changed out 4 times. The front desk attendant said it might be a problem with the door reader, but no one offered to check that idea. The room refrigerator was warm, definitely needs to be defrosted or serviced. Breakfast is meager options, and if you have special dietary needs, don’t bet on this one. The waffle maker was in poor, unclean condition, and the batter smelled sour. I would stay again if I couldn’t find a better option at the same price.

The Goldilocks and the Three Bears story comes to mind. Some things were too hard, such as getting into our room with the poorly functioning key cards. Some things were too soft such as the lukewarm hot tub, the "continental" breakfast being mostly cheap packaged baked goods, the typical waffle machine, and the lack of freshness. But, for the most part Goldilocks knew what she was getting into when she booked the budget hotel. And, I have to say that some things were just right. The room was clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The staff were helpful. And the location just 4 minutes from downtown Mineral Point was awesome. We had wanted to stay in the downtown at the Mineral Point hotel, but they only allowed two people per room and my wife wasn't about to leave our son in the car overnight, especially in the winter. So, all in all the Quality Inn is just right.
