"We were very happy to stay at the Shamas Hotel. The rooms were quite clean, pleasant and careful; everything makes it feel new and personal. When we were in another stone bed in the region, the rooms had a disturbing smell from old structure, so we were a little worried, but we never had a problem like that in Shamas. Its breakfast was really very beautiful, the products were fresh and varied enough. We certainly recommend those who want to live in the stone's atmosphere and stay in a clean, comfortable and new place."

Returning to my hometown, I wanted to visit this hotel and enjoy a drink there—especially since the establishment once belonged to my family. Unfortunately, my request was denied. I never would have imagined such a cold and disheartening experience. It's all the more upsetting considering that it's usually possible to enjoy a drink freely in any hotel. Fortunately, our stay at Kazr Mesopotamia more than made up for it: we met wonderful people there who helped us forget this unfortunate incident."

"We chose this boutique hotel for our stop in Midyat on our GAP tour. The rooms are a bit small, but that's normal for places like this. It has an authentic ambiance because it's an original stone mansion. It was a clean and tidy hotel. The hotel is about 10 minutes from Midyat center. There is parking. The breakfast was also good. The view from the top floor of the mansion is beautiful. I just want to say this as a criticism: three friends paid a total of 13,000 TL for one night (5000 TL for one room, 4000 TL for the other two). They charged us 300 TL for two Turkish coffees after breakfast. This is really not good business practice. My problem isn't the coffee money, but the hospitality of the local people, the understanding of treating guests not just as customers. You don't charge your guests for coffee. No offense intended. And I didn't give a bad rating in this criticism. I mean, I'm not saying the hotel is bad just because I was angry. But charging money for things like water and coffee is unacceptable for businesses like this..."
