The Homestead has a long history in the Heber Valley, and the major renovations it's getting seem to be changes for the better. Unfortunately, while the resort has a ton of potential, it's just not living up to it, particularly for the rates being charged. The service is extremely lacking - there are a few folks who really seem to know what they're doing, but those rare individuals seem embarrassed to be working alongside so many staff members who are ill-trained, poorly motivated, and generally not good at their jobs. The food and drink experience was very disappointing - everything was extremely "meh". The pool area looks amazing...except for the complete lack of service and attention to detail (how hard is it to open up the curtains in the expensive cabanas every dew days and make sure there aren't giant nests of wasps being built?!). Simon's restaurant has great ambience with the new colonial styling, but the food is extremely mediocre, and the staff has no idea what they're doing. 1886 grill is in the same boat - the menu looks great, but the staff doesn't know how to take orders or serve the food, and can someone PLEASE do something about all of the bees that were constantly harassing all of the diners? The excuse I heard one staff member give a customer after his child had been stung while eating was "well, you are eating outside, and there are insects outside" - not acceptable! I attempted to speak with a manager, only to be told that the supervisor on duty was in the parking lot dealing with the police for the arrest of a guest or staff member (not sure which) and the actual manager would not be back until Tuesday (it was Sunday). For the amount this place is charging, and the kind of marketing they're doing, I expected a great experience. What I got was closer to a Motel 6 and a Waffle House. I will not be back until Marriott has assumed control of the resort in 2027 and had a chance to make some major changes - don't waste your money! Stick with someplace that knows what they're doing for the next couple of years.

Terrible internet service and their parking situation was awful. There also was an issue with our room that was not resolved. We didn't have working internet the entire time. Very disappointing.

Went here on a corporate outing but no one had internet in their rooms no matter how many times the desk staff said they were sending someone out to fix it. Made it very frustrating and difficult. Over shadowed all the potentially positive things like the pool and the prime rib.

This is a beautiful facility but unfortunately the golf course and grounds were under renovations. I'd like to return when the ae completed. I would have rated it five star under different circumstances.

The golf course is immaculate. The pool area is also great for just adults or families with kids. The hotel staff was informative and friendly. Our room was in MINT condition. Very modern, clean, updated, soft bed and pillows. We had a little porch with our own chairs we could sit out on. It is like walking through a little cottage village. There were multiple firepits with chairs you could turn on and sit at. There is a bar that is accessible from the golf course or the pool area. The hotel has a restaurant and a coffee shop. So if you are looking for somewhere to stay with things to do without having to get in your car and drive to food or amenities, I would reccomend staying here. We went for our anniversary and it was so relaxing. We will be back with our friends and kids.

If you're going for the pool, it's worth the trip. But the rest of the experience is significantly lacking. Specifically, the Milk House should be avoided for any proper food/pastries—really just poorly done. Our room was fine but for the 50% functional. It ran, but it didn't necessarily cool much down. It also made a very cool banging noise in the middle of the night. Don't underestimate the construction situation. The property doesn't mention it—and frankly, they don't seem to notice at all—but the parking is a mess, all our stuff ended up dirty traipsing it from the lot to where ever else we needed to go, etc. Final word: the pools (and to a lesser extent the 1886 grill at the pool) are the only reasons to go to Homestead.

Reading prior reviews I was hesitant on going. Yes, there is construction, but I knew that going in because I read reviews beforehand. It was a dirt area for parking, but my family and I were totally ok with it. The staff was extremely friendly 5 stars on that. The room was gorgeous. The pool was for sure "RESORT STYLE" If you are not from Utah, I would recommend looking up our liquor laws before coming. You can only have alcohol at the bar and cannot take it to the side of the pool or your lounge chairs. So please don't blame the bartenders for that. The milk house was a nice touch my kids loved the ice cream, and they also had healthy juice options. The crater was amazing we got to just soak in it for an hour, does cost. The food was really good. I left feeling like my kids had an amazing time and I have already booked for January 2026 for my son's birthday. The lady at the crater said it's a cool experience in winter.

Let’s see I booked in at the Homestead resort via *******. Paid in full. By staff, I was arrested by staff I was accused of being a trespasser. I had not checked in because I live across the street. I felt that I would not check in. I didn’t need the room and I would save the hotel, frankly the house stuff, cleaners the trouble.I was arrested. I was handcuffed. I had a bag over my head. I was told that I had trespassing and I had to pay $2000 bill excuse me $2500 bill plus an attorney fee to help me with. I was arrested. I was handcuffed. I had a bag over my head.
