A lovely warm welcome ,friendly and accommodating staff makes it a very special place to stay ,our room was beautiful and clean ,it was such a relaxing break away .Beautiful surroundings

This was going to be a really great 80th Birthday getaway How disappointing! 4- poster room was very small Bathroom a bit dated No outside areas other than a terrace looking at a car park with 6 tables Spa Pool was great Dinner…. Although booked it was announced loudly to the room “ Oh No Sir…. You’ve not booked” When corrected the waiter grudgingly ushered us to a table 45 mins between starter and main courses even though they were sea bass, and a steak…( takes about 5 mins each)….. so obviously forgotten even though we had to ask the waiter 3 times… Breakfast… burnt toast, no condiments, nearly cold. The Bill….. nearly £500 because VAT not quoted in the prices…. Plus a 12% service charge(!!!) DONT go there!

Another fabulous stay at the Spread Eagle, this time we had The Garden Room, a lovely relaxing room on ground level. Our aim is to try as many rooms as possible, we have already tried 8 different ones over 40 years and of course the Queen's Suite where we stayed on our wedding night and have since stayed in 3 times !!! The food is always wonderful and the staff are friendly and helpful. Already planning our next visit.

My husband and I came for an afternoon tea , an anniversary present, the setting in the lounge bar was lovely as was the tea ,great choice of sandwiches,scones were the best I’ve had with a cream tea and I’m sure the jam was homemade,we would certainly recommend it , even though the car Park was busy, please let your chef know how much we enjoyed our scones !

Lovely waiter who took our order served our tea never to be seen again . We had to ask for more tea, then the bill, etc. Delicious sandwiches & scones - mass produced cakes which were disappointing - had much better experience previously . No acknowledgement that it was a 70th birthday
