The Inn at Middletown is a wonderful mix of New England Inn and clean, very comfortable accommodations. Beds are cozy, bath linens nice quality, & rooms reliably fitted with all modern conveniences. But it is the staff of the Inn that make it a gem of a stay - Mason, the inn's manager, is one of the nicest, most professional hosts a person could ask for. He is patient, welcoming, efficient, and does everything he can to make guests feel comfortable & welcomed. A true professional. Mason is a tribute to how special a place the Inn at Middletown is.

Parking very limited, valet never at stand, told we could park at a local movie theatre which was a couple blocks away with many bags and kids , not convenient. There is no safe in room, when I asked the late afternoon desk clerk she said “No, of course there is no safe in room” The desk clerk who checked us in at 2:30 was friendly, courteous and helpful, as was the gentleman who seemed to be head of maintenance. On Sunday, my niece tried to eat breakfast in restaurant and the hostess was very rude and spoke pretty harshly to her. We had to go to a restaurant down the street. Small details like a sleeve for hot coffee cups missing, although the first morning there was no coffee and I had to go to a shop down the street.

The facade of the building is beautiful! The welcome from Ricky at the front desk is what made our stay awesome. Extremely pleasant man. I called him the hardest working man in show business! Thank for the stay Ricky!

It’s a perfectly nice hotel and the staff is helpful, but we were quite frustrated that we weren’t able to check in on time. It’s one thing to not be able to check in early (though I think if you request an early check in a week early, it should be taken more seriously), but quite another to not have the room ready at the agreed-upon time. There were two or three weddings this weekend where the guests were residing at the hotel. We were going to one the day we checked in (which they knew — we were in the system through the room block code) and we were nearly late to the ceremony because we weren’t able to get checked in on time despite arriving early, nor did there seem to be any urgency on our behalf. I don’t blame the cleaning crew whatsoever — I know they were understaffed — and understand the staff was trying their best with what they had. Management should have been prepared for that clearly busy weekend and prioritized wedding block rooms. I have never had an issue with checking in on time before at ANY other hotel, Airbnb, etc. Again, I empathize with everyone working there, but it felt very unprofessional and future guests should be forewarned that this could be a problem.
