We visited on one of the Castle Open Days, arriving at 1230, planning a self-guide tour and tea afterwards. In fact we started off with a delicious cream tea followed by a wonderful tour of this fabulous castle. It is completely different from normal "commercial" venues in that it is much more rustic and genuine. A fantastic guide was on hand who was only too pleased to give us a wealth of interesting informaion. The chapel is gorgeous (Saxon) and it is all in a beautiful peaceful setting. Owner, Sarah, was a delight to talk to as we were leaving. We hugely enjoyed this Historic Houses property which is run with real love and enthusiasm.
