Changjin Hotel (Mianyang Renmin Park)

The location is at the city center. The cleanliness and service are good. Especially, the staff of reception are very humble and kind during our stay.

We chose this hotel because it claimed to have non-smoking rooms and we wanted to be in a local (non-western brand) hotel. The first thing we see, is a guest smoking in a lobby under a non-smoking sign. While I showed him the sign, he laughed and the receptionist sided with him. Another thing was an ash tray right in front of our room door under a non-smoking sign. Besides that the toilet drainage smelled, so it was double trouble regarding smells in this hotel. Another negative was that the room was not ready at the claimed check in time of 2 pm. It is nice to have a check out time at 2 pm as well, but logically, if the hotel is full, it is not able to fulfill its promises. You should be able to walk stairs, if you want to stay in this hotel because it is on the upper floor with no elevator. Also, some rooms do not have windows, so be careful, which room you choose while booking. Our room had a window, despite that, it was very dark. The furniture was ok, apart from the chain at the door that was broken, so you could only use the lock. The biggest plus was a projector instead of a television, but we could not connect it with our western mobile phones.
