Our room was wonderful! Enjoyed the very large balcony, The (outside) lobby was frequently inhabited by sleeping people who were obviously not hotel guests. We saw a security guard only a few times. Our hallway was being painted (very poorly, I should add) so we did not know at first where our room was, had to try every door. ? The woman who checked us in said nothing about the room number. Kids hopped the fence to use the restroom by the (otherwise very nice) rooftop pool. We liked how this was at the end of Ocean Drive so pretty quiet.

Terrible experience. It is very old hotel with zero maintenance. Bathroom fixtures are broken. Door has no number to identify room. Dirty filthy reception. Very shabby crowd. Never recommend this hotel. All false promotional on websites.

Absolutely disgusting! Please check my pictures out & stay at your own risk ! Bacteria & germ infested pool! Nothing works! Charged extra for a private hot tub that doesn’t work. Immediately complained, front desk sending engineer & manager that never arrived! Please stay anywhere but here! I have had a rash since I left!

OMG!! it is absolutely unimaginable that this hotel is still in business!!! I am a frequent visitor to Miami Beach and I have stayed at some of the smallest art deco properties and the largest five-star properties there. Based on an incentive offered by my airline, I decided to try the Z Ocean. This property was recently acquired by a new group, that obviously are not concerned with the quality of this property. Upon check there was urine on the toilet from a previous stay; soiled linen; vents; and uncleaned floors, furniture, and fixtures. They even had painting tape covering the smoke/fire detectors in the room.......although, the rooms appeared as though they had not been painted in decades. There are no locks securing the bathroom, and the entire property has a smell of mold! I am generally easy going about my stays and understand the nuances that go with staying in an area of frequent destinations, but this property is FLAT OUT NASTY!! I stand by this review!

I stayed in the hotel about 5 or 6 years ago. It has definitely gone down hill. The check in process was smooth. The gentlemen that helped me was great. That’s where it ended. We were there for 4 days. No housekeeping services. My trash just piled up and I had to search for someone for towels. The rooms are run down. The jacuzzi’s are no longer jacuzzis. Just run down old tubs that look green. The locks on the sliding glass doors did not lock. Just unsecured. No on-site restaurants or bars. When I went to check out, I wanted a receipt. When I went to the front desk, the person just asked what room, and when I said my number, she gave me a thumbs up? What the heck?? So I could tell she wasn’t going to be helpful. So I called from the airport to get a receipt emailed and was left on hold for 7 minutes. I called back and asked for a supervisor and was placed on hold another 7 minutes. Still no receipt. The service is terrible now. All around terrible. Stay somewhere else.
