Grand Forest Metsovo - Leading Hotels of the World ★★★★★
"What a truly amazing experience this was. The property is located on top of a mountain and IN the mountain. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The view was spectacular. The food was delicious, and I really wished we could have taken advantage of their amazing breakfast buffet. Be forewarned that the trip up to the hotel was scary (winding roads around the mountain with drop offs) and knowing that the trip down would be equally as scary, we chose not to eat. If you're not prone to getting carsick - go for it! Lovely lobby with a bar attached and awesome fireplace in the middle plus private areas just outside (glass enclosed). We highly recommend this hotel Also, pay attention when you're shown to your room - it's easy to get lost there. But that should NOT stop you!"
Archontiko Metsovou Luxury Boutique Hotel ★★★★

Katogi Averoff Hotel & Winery ★★★★
"We had two superior rooms for one night in the week leading to Christmas. It was all very lovely, comfortable, stylish and representative of the area without the over-the-top heavy/wooden look that is so traditional for Metsovo and done to excess elsewhere. The rooms were spacious and had a little balcony with only a side view unfortunately. That, and the fact that some very noisy residents kept us awake way past midnight (indicating that the walls are rather thin), are my only criticisms. The bathrooms were really spacious and the products Caudalie (with minimal plastic packaging). The breakfast was exceptional, with great variety and high quality products, made in situ or sourced by local farmers and their own cheese making business. A great way to start your evening is by having a drink at the cosy bar serving wines and tsipouro from the hotel vineyard. We also visited the shop on the premises and were given a little (20’) tour of the winery. The prices at the shop are excellent, at a small discount. (The same wine that was around €25 in the shop was being sold for €10 more in one of the local produce shops in the town square.) The Romanian lady at reception was very helpful and pleasant, as was all the other staff we came across. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return soon ourselves."
Adryades Luxury Apartments ★★★
"The room was perfect, warm, and modern. I wish I had this decoration in my home. Great location, the only thing missing was a fireplace, but it was value for money. I wish we could have stayed longer. The check-in process was really simple and hassle-free"
Aroma Dryos Spa & Eco Hotel ★★★
"This place being dog friendly was the reason we chose it (along with location, a stone’s throw from the main square, and parking on site – we were lucky to get a spot – the turntable at the car park entrance and the origami-style parking could get an Instagram feed in their own rights). When we entered, we found an amazingly decorated hotel, what I would describe as Alpine-Vlach - everything, from the table decorations, large fireplace in the lounge and wooden details, was a feast for the eyes. Our Bubble-the-dog was made very welcome and, from what we can tell, enjoyed her stay. I think she would have liked to become bosom buddy with the resident dog Scarlet, who is friendly but maybe a bit territorial - next time, maybe? Vicky, who welcomed us, was lovely and very friendly (I loved the way she greeted me by name every morning). She did give us a couple of dog-friendly restaurant recommendations on our first evening, but it seemed most places were fine anyway. As it was our first time, we would have welcomed more advice as to what roads were open or not at this time of year and which circular drives we could attempt, but we did end up on an amazing four-hour road trip of our own making, not quite what our maps said was doable but the detour was well worth it. No-one likes an espresso machine more than me, especially as I need a caffeine fix before taking the dog for her early walk every morning. The Lavazza machine made good coffee and was perfect pre-early morning dog walk. The web-advertised Apivita toiletries (which is a lovely well-known Greek brand) had been replaced by another sustainable toiletry brand called The Curious Botanist (liquid soap, body lotion, squeezy bottles of body/hair wash and conditioner in the shower), so maybe the website needs updating but no matter. The shower itself was a really good size and there was plenty of hot water. The bathroom was large enough to more than swing a cat, which is a rare treat. The very comfortable bed, clean linen, good Wifi and a warm room were lovely (if you want to enjoy the fire in the room, there is a surcharge of 8 Euros, but it was so warm we did not bother). Breakfast was pretty good - the home-made apricot jam was so delicious I had to buy a jar, my husband LOVED the strawberry jam. The pastries (especially the Bougatsa) were excellent too and there were eggs, yoghurt, dried fruit and more to choose from. No muesli (my husband's staple, but muesli is not really a Greek thing so he can't complain) but plenty of excellent hot coffee from an urn, although there is an espresso machine in the area and I am sure we could have asked for a capuccino or espresso had we felt like it. I did not try the spa and yet, reading the reviews, I feel that I should have done so...maybe next time??? My husband is firmly in favour of another trip to Metsovo and I agree with him. He says this place is the *only* place to stay... I think he's right."

"A very well located hotel in the heart of Metsovo. Old building but well maintained. Has it’s own parking which is very useful. Stayed for 1 night on our way to zagoroxoria. Friendly people and staff. Overall good experience. Would choose it again and suggest it to others."
