American Executive Inn Mesa

New owners in the place and the regular receptionist has a dismissive attitude. Some rooms are quite nice and it’s a good deal but be careful, the ‘price’ starts at $44 but after taxes etc it sometimes becomes $75. It used to be about $52 but now it’s at least $62 no matter what the initial cost said. The last room was awful: clogged sink, floors dirty, the door could only be opened by the staff, apparently the key cards didn’t work so you would need to see the receptionist to enter. But other times it is nice.

It was nice and clean and very quiet but the water gor the shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold there was no inbetween

The room itself wasn’t horrible, however, there was what looked like food left on one of the night stands and one of the overhead lights and 1 lamp didn’t work. The toilet was not secure so every time we went to the bathroom it was wobble and the shower head was tilted at a weird angle with little water pressure and not a lot of hot water, mostly luke warm at best. Over all it was okay.

Not the best motel. Not very clean

When I arrived at this "hotel" there was no lobby to walk into. I had to ring a doorbell and wait for someone to come to a window who I had to tell I was there to check in. She then let me into a very tight area with a really tall counter that I could barely see over. I'm 5'3". She looked up my reservation and incorrectly told me I was registered for 2 nights when I was registered for 3 nights. I went to my room to immediately find that it smelled atrocious (I had to go buy Febreze and spray down the entire room and leave for over an hour to let the smell start to dissipate). I also noticed that the bedspread had some disgusting crusty white stuff on it in multiple places. There was hair all over the bathroom and on everything in the STALL shower (when they claim that their rooms are shower/tub combos), and no, it was NOT mine. The towels were threadbare in multiple places. There was mold on the ceiling in the shower. The hot water was so hot that I burned myself on it. No one came to clean my room after the first night. I also noticed that every time I walked through the room in bare feet (not often) that the bottoms of my feet turned BLACK. The curtain in the window was broken off the clips at the end so I couldn't get full privacy. I was in town for a conference during a major conference time and all of the other hotels were booked out or charging hundreds per night, so this was my only option or I would have left. I asked for a refund and the hotel declined. They also tried to say that I never even tried to ask for help; that's a bit impossible when there's no one to ask for help! I reported the conditions to the Dept of Health.

Do NOT book a room here Horrible hotel. Window slats were broken off, no deciding door from the room. Temperature was horrible. Bathroom door wouldn't close. Water didn't get hot. Kitchen was nasty. I booked a week here. I ended up leaving the first day and get a better hotel. This place is a dump. Nothing like the pictures at all.
