Not happy with assigned sites. And the fact that no one seems to be able to help is very frustrating. The spots assigned are not what we would have chosen for ourselves with the first come first serve way that thousand trails used to be and what we were originally sold on as well as signs about staying 21 days park to park isn’t a thing anymore with the assigned sites. It’s way too hot being 9 months pregnant with little ones in the straight sun no shade and my rig not able to function on a 30 amp or cool down. We run the risk of blowing the plug by using more than 2 things. They have had a ton of blown plugs because of this reason which I find dangerous. But they have a tents, vans, 110 trailers and 30 amp trailers all taking up the 50 amp spots where larger rigs should be for the safety of the pedestal and the rig. They also have a ton of 50 amp sites open!! And won’t let us move or adjust the reservations to make sense. There should be a system that assigns based on your equipment. Not what you “choose” they took our choice away when they took away FCFS.

We were in site 124 which is truly a marvelous site. Good shade, good power, lots of room and on the water. You see staff on a regular basis and they are always willing to help. There are activities offered throughout the week. Only downfall to this resort is internet access. You can get it at the lodge but anywhere else in the park you will probably be out of luck. I've been here 4 times and I've never been able to sign up successfully yet.

Great location, staff and amenities. Highly recommended. The park members and staff really go all out for Halloween. A wonderful time for all ages.

Cabin was cozy, fully stocked and conveniently close to amenities. We spent 7 days in it and loved it! Our cabin slept 6, comfortably. Place was very clean and spacious. Big fridge and plenty of kitchen appliances. Staff is very friendly. Check in/out process is fast!

The park was clean, the staff was very nice and helpful. We had not problems with the power (30amp). We had okay water pressure 35psi consistent through our stay. This is a rustic park and not a resort. Know what you are booking and you will have a great experience.

I’ve been to many campgrounds, but this Thousand Trails location is by far one of the worst when it comes to guest support. The rangers are completely unhelpful when it comes to noise complaints or dealing with problems in the park. Even after asking for assistance multiple times, we were told to “call 911” — which is not only an overreaction for campground issues but also a waste of emergency resources. The supervisor is no better. She is not present on weekends (when most problems happen) and leaves everything to the rangers. When she is there, she is unfriendly, dismissive, and refuses to help with even basic reservation assistance. It’s clear that the focus here is not on creating a safe, family-friendly environment or building a sense of community — it’s purely about income. If you’re looking for a campground where staff care about their guests and take action when issues arise, I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

The new assigned site program is a disaster. The Ranger tells you which site you will be in. You have NO say. Some sites are horrible and of course we got one. Management didn’t want to listen to us and made no attempt to get us into another site that would be better. Not a happy camper at Thousand Trails Wilderness Lakes in Menifee, CA.
